Coventry don't deserve to go up, I hope they enjoy their trip to Morecambe on a cold wet Winter's night next season.

FA enquiry needed into that result

Coventry city - cheating fucking bastards. Have done to Barnet what they did to us years ago.

Glad I wasn't able to come down for this in the end. It's just plain bad sportsmanship at the end of the day and certainly not something I'd want to pay to watch.

On the other hand, so pleased we've finally managed to make it into the playoffs. Anyone's game from here but there's no-one in this league I wouldn't fancy us against over 2 legs. Glad we didn't get Exeter because of the away allocation issues.

I don't give a shite what some faceless person has said. If we had lost 20-0 today we would still be in the playoffs.

only cov fans could be annoyed on a day we cemented our place in the play offs...

I'm delighted we are there, nothing else matters.

Exactly.

I'd bet my last penny if it had been any other team in our position in the same scenario they'd have done the same thing. We're not the first, we won't be the last.

For those who have gone most weeks, fair play, it's one fiddled result in 46......feel a bit for the 5000 who paid to watch a non game though but then again many are there to collect the stub for priority for the play offs.

You can try not to lose in the spirit of the game and that was pretty borderline for me. Happy to be in the play offs but a disappointing way to do it.

Totally agree and think a lot of others will as well. Feel sorry for the big crowd that had to watch that!

And our 48 year record is still unbeaten! Well, okay. It's just been equalled but not yet beaten! Still haven't finished higher than sixth in 48 years! I'm quite proud of that in a daft sort of way! :emoji_laughing:

Our fans are idiots, it was clear we were going to play out a draw. Why boo them? Both teams got the required results. Barnet had 46 games and 4 managers this season, if they want to blame anyone then all they need to do is look in the mirror.

We go into the play offs with a squad that are fresh. We should beat notts county over 2 legs.

Guy on five live says Morecombe have no threat whatsoever and are playing for a draw
Well he is wrong. At least he was.

First 10-15 mins they did press us and try to attack. they didn't just defend, defend, defend as suggested.

At one point they had us pinned back for about 5 or 6 mins. They didn't really threaten though, apart from one great ball in that Davies just got his foot to, to clear it away.

As the game wore on Morecambe showed no intent, just as we all thought they would.

Not a cat in hells chance they will come here to attack. All managers will say that. Which manager is going to say he's going to come here looking for a draw.
They gave it a go for 15 mins or so, which is exactly what I said. Had us pinned back for a while and trying to go forwards. Tried to pinch a goal and then defend that.

They quickly went into draw mode after a while though.

Simple score 4 goals. And if we lose by one goal. We go through on goals scored.
We have to attack and go all out to score goals.

Crawley are atrocious at the moment even Cheltenham scored 5 at their place recently. So I fear Mansfield will batter them. But will be in vain.

Confident of a win. As long as we start purposefully and are fully on it.
So, awful Crawley got a point and Mansfield didn't win.

I am in a bumpy mood today. :)

I said I felt both Yeovil and Crawley might well get something out of their games and so it proved.

Don't know why you were so convinced Mansfield would win.

It isn’t sportsmanship it’s professionalism

One season we won 3 games in a row to stay up and two of those teams we played were already on holiday

That’s not what the five live commentators said

I can't believe people getting frothy about the game. It was obvious the longer it went on that it would become less likely either team would risk all out attack. It wasn't good to watch but it was what was required. As for fans of other clubs calling us cheats we aren't responsible for your teams league position, and Sunderland are just an embarrassment to the north east

Oh, well obviously he was right and I was wrong. Not!

Morecambe clearly showed some intent for about 10 mins or so. Watch the footage. At one point they were almost encamped in our half, keeping possesion and trying to make openings.

What the radio commentator must be clearly saying is in terms of across the 90 mins. He would therefore be right on that count. Morecambe carved a great opening and Ellison looked set to score, but Davies stuck a leg out and deflected the ball wide.

First 15 mins Morecambe clearly did not sit back. After that though they did become a lot more cautious.

Looking at the summary from other posters no one agrees with you.

Personally I don’t care about other teams. Would other teams really think “Oh poor Coventry let’s risk our play off place to help them out”. We did what we had to do to finish in the play offs.

Unfortunate for Barnet but the table doesn’t lie. They’ve had 46 games the same as everyone else and have been the second worst team in our league.

Well those sitting next to me at the ground agreed with me.

Watch the footage.

From the Lancashire Evening Post:

'Morecambe began well and played some good passing football, albeit without the final ball required in the final third.'

Which is what I said. They tried to threaten. They weren't very threatening, cos their final ball wasn't good enough, but they did start quite brightly and were trying to attack.

They most certianly were not just defending. Not at the start of the game and that's what I said in the week they might well do.
