Stand up if you've never watched Wasps (2 Viewers)

They've been threatening to ringfence the top division for years.

A very worrying development in my eyes. If you're not good enough, you should go down. It's what makes competitive sport, well... competitive!

Interesting report on the dreadful Jim White show this morning that Rugby want to ring fence the top teams by virtually stopping promotion to the top league.

It would be the end of the sport if that happened. No competition and same old repetition year on year.
Probably something suggested by bellend owners and chief execs like Wasps Nick Eastwood and Derek Richardson.

Maybe make a note for yourself to not give it loads about morals and what you will and won't do to then just go back on it? You were the one who started this thread saying how you wouldn't go and watch, but then you had to so you could tick them off.

Here you go with your right vs wrong line again, how about being a massive, slimy hypocrite who goes against what they have said they wouldn't do? How does that fit with your "fighting for right"?

You got banned for a reason. Maybe the suggestions of harassing people's kids at schools had something to do with it. More to add for your "fighting for right" nonsense. The second account was banned for creating a duplicate to post the same stuff. Maybe people made comments about you loving the council and Wasps because you kept banging on about opening bubbly over a court case? I love CCFC, if we win I want to get rat arsed too.

So yes, your credibility does sit below Dongo. Your hypocrisy level is around Italia.

Where did I say I was forming some kind of Wasps boycott? All I said was that I wasn't going to go - then I changed my mind. Ever changed your mind on anything? Or did you feel the need to ask permission from a web forum before doing so?

As for right v wrong, I assume that you're absolutely, entirely comfortable with the conduct of our owners since 2012? As you seem to care not about what wrongs are committed, provided that they aim to advance the prospects of a football team you support. I advice you read the JR Judge's findings, subsequently upheld by the Court of Appeal and UK Supreme Court no less, before answering.

As for me, do you always take a "ban first, ask questions later" approach then forget the "ask questions later bit"? Is that part of your invisible, non-existent boards rulebook? If you had have done you'd have found that the comment was made in jest and that the ban was groundless. Why didn't you check?

If I ever felt the need to make a thread on a forum to say I wasn't going to do something I'd probably feel quite strongly about it so no, I wouldn't change my mind. That's why I don't give it loads about things like that.

As for right v wrong, I am pointing out how you seem to be obsessing about being a hero for showing what's right but it only seems to be in this particular instance and this case for the council and city you claim to have no affinity to. Most people would see suggesting harassing somebody's kids at school as wrong but the person who likes to preach about right and wrong doesn't seem to? As for jest, it certainly didn't come across like that in the slightest hence it was pointed out by multiple people.

I think the fact your posts are more emotionally charged about a city you claim to have nothing to do with then it is the football team the site's about is enough to make you look silly, that's before you feel the need to start a thread like this and then look sillier. Why is it consistently people who give it loads about what they will or won't do, their morals, things being right and wrong who end up doing a U turn?

It's all well and good you trying to pull the "I assume you are comfortable with the actions of our owners" line, you are the apparently celebrating court cases with bubbly because you feel that strongly about right and wrong. I think the owners are massive bellends, I also think the council and Wasps are massive bellends. Whatever the result in any court case I won't be getting out any bubbly. I will save that for celebrating the football side of things.

Why is it that it's people like you, Captain Dart and Dongo who end up looking silly with things like this? A bit of a pattern there, maybe you can all share a glass together while everybody else is celebrating potential playoffs? All experts about everything apart from the actual football.

Also shows why Eastwood hasn’t been worried about the real rugby of Coventry rise as they are about to slam the door shut on them

We need Wasps relegated sharpish then don't we.

Relegation for Wasps, another promotion for Cov and THEN ring fence it.

Wasps will never be relegated.

Its funny Saracens moved back to London, and now London Irish are aiming to.
London Irish: Club 'moving closer' to London return from Madejski Stadium - London Irish: Club 'moving closer' to London return from Madejski Stadium

Only one club who didn't value their heritage and fans. I like the way the Chief Executive of London Irish, Brain Facer summed it up, "It's about bringing the club back to the heart of where it was, back to our history and heritage. We want to be a true London club, the clue's in the name after all."

(This will obviously set the Italia siren off and cue him arriving with some alleged facts and figures to back his but, but, but, Wasps excuses)

I bet they would be if it went to a vote between the clubs as they need to get 13 into 12, but they seem to be trying to force out a team called London Irish ( a team that doesn’t play in London or have any Irish players from what they said)

Plase point out to me where I've said I consider myself a hero? Literally, I have never said that. Nor have I ever called for anyone to be harassed.

If you think it's silly to be emotionally charged about something you care passionately about, then I think that's quite strange in itself. You must be aware that some people feel very strongly about, for example, Rupert Murdoch and the actions of his companies. You must be aware that many people who have nothing to do with the News Inc group hope that they get what they deserve in court etc. There's nothing at all silly about that, even if you don't have a personal connection. It just gives me a lot of satisfaction when people whose actions mean that they deserve shit, get shit. Personally the fact you see an equivalence between Sisu and Wasps/CCCC tells me that you have not really viewed the whole affair independently; either that, or you need to inform yourself of the facts. I suggest the JR1 verdict as a start point - have you read it in full? I've got a printed copy if you want one.

As for Wasps, the thread is very clear. I stated I wasn't go to go, but purely from disinterest rather than through any moral boycott or any such crap. I just wasn't bothered, and said so multipletimes in this thread. Then when I had a Sunday in the area with nothing much to do I changed my mind as a one-off and went to tick off the ground and keep myself busy watching a rugby game as a neutral; I have been to literally hundreds of football, cricket and rugby matches in this country as a neutral spectator - it's a hobby of mine (also the reason I'd never get a CCFC season ticket, too samey going to the same ground all the time, I like the variety of going to new grounds). I like rugby (unlike some of the mindfucks I have spoken with in our support who even before the Wasps takeover seem to have an irrational loathing for it). That's nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed about; I haven't lost any credibility, it's not like I did anything like watch us a Sixfields or something really pathetic.

You went out of your way to start a thread strangely bragging about how you wouldn't go to watch them to then just try and defend them. What's all that about?

So you are passionate about a court case between SISU and the Higgs / Council? So much so you will celebrate that undoubtedly more than you do about football. Yes, that is very strange.

Not sure why you keep going on about the judges verdict, I am a football fan and the passion comes out every Saturday, Tuesday and whichever other days we play on. If a court case between people you have no affinity to is your "passion" then that's up to you, but maybe see why football fans on a football forum think that's weird.

You do realise Wasps play at the same ground as us don't you?

I'd bet you that nobody on here will actually bust out some bubbly based on the outcome of Rupert Murdoch, although I would also bet you it's more more likely that people on here would celebrate if we get a bit of success on the pitch or when we won the Checkatrade.

If you want to be passionate about court cases and rights and wrongs, you should really be on a politics / legal forum because your plastic supported CCFC for a couple of years nonsense is transparent when you end up posting about a court case and legal things more than anything else and showing more passion about that than any football match we have played.

Not sure why you would be confused about people thinking it is very strange. Maybe if you actually had some affinity and passion for a sports team you would understand why, you will just have to ask Sky Sports News to cover court cases for you if your passion is things things like this. (Or just this particular one......)

I wasn't bragging, I was asking each other people's opinions. It wasn't meant to read in any other way. I'm not sure why you're challenging me on this - what are you accusing me of, some kind of hidden agenda?

So you are passionate about a court case between SISU and the Higgs / Council? So much so you will celebrate that undoubtedly more than you do about football. Yes, that is very strange. Strange to you. Everyone has their own things in life they're passionate about. I bet you have things in your life that 99% of people think is strange (snail racing, or something). We all do.

Not sure why you keep going on about the judges verdict, I am a football fan and the passion comes out every Saturday, Tuesday and whichever other days we play on. If a court case between people you have no affinity to is your "passion" then that's up to you, but maybe see why football fans on a football forum think that's weird. The forum is about Coventry City Football Club, not just football. Clearly the court cases etc are relevant to this forum, nothing strange in that.

You do realise Wasps play at the same ground as us don't you? Surely it's already "ticked". No. Rules of the 92 club, in any ground share you need to watch both teams play at the ground in order to say you've been and thus tick off both teams of the list. I had to do the same going to watch Fulham at QPR once, just to tick them off my 92 list. The list also involved me travelling to games like Torquay v Grimsby, Hartlepool v Macclesfield, Plymouth v Port Vale, Southend v Oldham, etc etc etc - just to tick the grounds off. Weird? If you say so.

I'd bet you that nobody on here will actually bust out some bubbly based on the outcome of Rupert Murdoch, although I would also bet you it's more more likely that people on here would celebrate if we get a bit of success on the pitch or when we won the Checkatrade. I know LOADS of people who would celebrate Rupert getting put out of business or something. It does help that me and thmrs really champagne mind and drink it a lot, not just on special occasions. Any excuse!

If you want to be passionate about court cases and rights and wrongs, you should really be on a politics / legal forum because your plastic supported CCFC for a couple of years nonsense is transparent when you end up posting about a court case and legal things more than anything else and showing more passion about that than any football match we have played. "Plastic supported" - how abotu a CCFC fan of 10 years standing who goes to on average 10 away games a year? Doesn't make me a hero but it makes me a genuine fan, thanks.

It's titled "stand up if you've never watch wasps", the same as "stand up if you love city" which is clearly showing something you are proud of and then reads about how you would never go to watch them. Surely you would have known about at the time of posting you would need to go for "92 club"? Not sure why you are going on about travelling to Hartlepool, it's a completely different sport.

Nope, you are somebody who likes court cases by the sounds of it and visiting random grounds with no actual affinity to what's going on and which teams are playing. You clearly have no passion for CCFC.

This forum is for Coventry City Fans yes, however you seem to be in the same bracket as PWKH, his ACL colleague and whoever else wanted to show up and make themselves look silly.

I think most people do find things weird when people seem to contradict themselves so much, most people are straight up and won't feel the need to make threads like this when they know full well it isn't true. At least people like Italia are straight up about their intentions and not snakelike.

Earlier on i was going to edit my first post of the morning by thanking you for taking a more reasonable approach with some civility. That no longer applies.

I am not snakelike. Anyone who knows me will tell you i am an honest and sincere bloke. You've never met me, just taken exception to my opinions on this
board. Just because i am more passionate about seeing sisu lose in court than our results doesn't make me a plastic or anothet PWKH. I go to lots of games as a city fan. Some things are more important than our results, something you seem utterly unable to comprehend. Which is strange for someone who appears to consider himself a mind reader, which you do judging by your posts telling me what i think and feel based on my posts.

As far as I can see all i have done to offend you is to implacably call out the club and the owners for their failings. You appear to dislike the CT and Gilbert for the same reason. This is a forum, differences of opinion are the whole point. Unfortunately you don't seem interested in accepting the validity of others' views, just keep bitching back at them.

Obviously things are more important than our results that deserve more passion, family, work, life however court cases would be well below that list for pretty much any football fan...

I only go from posts on here to judge, which is why I am not judging people on how they bring up their children etc and just judge them on what is posted on here.

No, I disliked Gilbert because he was a knob about things. He used to give it loads threatening with invoices and legal nonsense if anybody posted anything from the telegraph on here and generally gave it loads. Have you seen me mention anybody else there? I like Andy Turner, some strange player ratings but does a good job. Ben who does the crime stuff also does a decent job.

So yes, it does make you very much like PWKH and people like that but the difference is they were actually involved personally so had a reason to be more passionate about things at court etc.

You don't offend me by calling out the club, lots of people do so it isn't like you are a lone sailor. Despite the banter and back and forth with people like BHSB, LAST, Steve from the Trust, CJ etc you can see they really do love the club and everything about it which is where there is respect for that despite disagreeing on particular points.

It's a bigger issue than results. The long term future of the club is always more important than short term results. I am sure even you would agree with that. If SISU had chosen a different path and behaved themselves, and we'd had a really successful time like e.g. Southampton, I wouldn't be first in the queue praising them. Even now I do praise them as and when I see that it's merited such as their continued commendable investment in the academy, for instance.

Southampton has a £29 million wage budget.

Wasps are a barrier to any future owner of that magnitude and by endorsing them you endorse the belief a club can move for financial gain to its shareholders. So it’s a ridiculous stance.

Obviously things are more important than our results that deserve more passion, family, work, life however court cases would be well below that list for pretty much any football fan...it depends if you see yourself first and foremost as a football fan or just as a member of the public who is interested in football. I'm in the latter camp.

I only go from posts on here to judge, which is why I am not judging people on how they bring up their children etc and just judge them on what is posted on here. In fairness to you, the written word e.g. this forum it is definitely possible to get an impression other than the one intended. For instance, I never meant to brag about not seeing Wasps (cue cries from Nick "of course you did")...reading my own words, I didn't express that as intended. But equally it doesn't help matters if you write things like "you think xyz"...

I agree on Turner and if I have assocaited others' comments on SG to you then I apologise for that (there are defintely some fans who dislike him and the CT for his perceived anti-CCFC stance)

So yes, it does make you very much like PWKH and people like that but the difference is they were actually involved personally so had a reason to be more passionate about things at court etc. Well I am a CCFC fan who also wants to see the club run in a responsible way, and I perceive that not to be the case. Granted I am not as passionate a fan as you or many others, however you know how many casual / lapsed / semi-casual fans there are, just like me, going to anything up to 15 games a season. Doesn't make us plastics. Doesn't mean our views do not count.

My take on this is that I always support the team on the field 100%. Nobody cheered more than me when Thomas got the goal at Wembley, nobody jumped up more than me when Nouble scored v Gillingham, or we thrashed Milwall 4-0. I've sat with m head in my hands at games like Oxford away and Northampton away last season when things went wrong. I cringe every time Burge belts it out of play, we play hoofball to a midget up top or spend a game defending a 0-1 deficit, but I cheer the boys on in every forward pass, cross, shot, corner etc. For me that's the point in going to a game, that and the general enjoyment of going to new places (even the crapholes we go to) and making a day of it with my mates from CCLSC . The distinction I'd make is that I do not love the club or see myself as obliged to be loyal to their actions off the field; I feel detached to that side of things sufficiently to be able to call out the club when I think they're doing something dodgy. Being a less regular fan from outside the area has obviously contributed to that perspective.

I just want to see the club succeed in the right way. For me there's an analogy with the Aussie ball tampering; if they'd won that last Test and not been foud out at the time, if I was an Aussie fan I wouldn't be happy about winning in a way that i felt was wrong. Same as if we won a peno where our player dived; I would personally call for our lad to be yellowed just like I would call for the same if it was an oppo player making that offence.

Problem is you don’t view franchise filth like wasps with negativity so you embrace immorality when it suits.

Southampton has a £29 million wage budget.

Wasps are a barrier to any future owner of that magnitude and by endorsing them you endorse the belief a club can move for financial gain to its shareholders. So it’s a ridiculous stance.

We could have a similar budget if we'd made the right business decisions (past owners included in this).

The fact is that Wasps bought the Ricoh fair and square - JR2 confirmed this. As well as the legal technicalities, there was clearly no problem with a council selling an asset to a party other than CCFC (who had hardly earned any brownie points or special treatment through their own treatment of the council). So why wouldn't anyone endorse them. The fact that they may or may not be helpful to CCFC's prospects is irrelevant. No reasonable person can realistically moan about the process that's got us here, other than to point the finger at SISU's tactics.

But the "Wasps owning the Ricoh" fig leaf is not one I buy. I don't think there's any reason we can't compete as tenants rather than owners. In fact, the Ricoh business still loses money so buy owning it we'd be draining money from the club to keep it running. It's just an excuse trotted out by SISU.

Only if you have incredibly low expectations!

Sure its just coincidence that the Wasps PR machine has sprung to life when CRFC have been promoted and CCFC look like they could be headed to the play offs.

We can have all three doing well together surely? Win Win for the city.

And action is being taken for late accounts?

"We wont change seat colours" and then going on about the day they play.

Very strange.

Which one?
Every time I go on its about sport.

The one where they were talking of rumours of a kicking barn on Car Park C and things like that, but the news turned out to be "we wont change the seats".

Not really sure how much longer they can do the same sort of thing and it goes over people's heads.

Bobby Bridge has reported in the Coventry Telegraph his 'wide ranging' interview with Nick Eastwood 'to be reported later this week'.

On the basis that Nick doesn't often have interviews with the CT and it is embargoed until later this week and he tends to reveal exciting things I have put 2 and 2 together and predict some interesting club news!

What could it be? New stadium deal? New training ground deal? New partnership deal?

What do you reckon folks?

That one.

"Quick, get me a sit down intimate interview with the local media so I can tell the seat colours arent going to change and how great everything is"

Was it? Have a look at the Wasps forum to see where they think it was a bit of an anti climax, they were expecting hard hitting news it seems.

It's a bit random isn't it?

Oh the one where they say that its old news and CET is blowing it up.
