Great result, credit to players and manager. How many from CCFC academy. Let's just wait now for adage and Steve to slag off our homegrown talent...hidden agendas

It doesn't quite feel like we are the 'Sutton Utd' (for those of us a little older) becuase we are a big club languishing but none the less this is an impressive win and a 'giant killing' act.
Hopefully that ghost has been laid to rest today, at least there is a damn good comeback if it's mentioned.

Brilliant. What a day. So pleased for my lad and all the other youngsters who until today hadn't really had that FA Cup feeling. A big PL team at home for me in the next round.

brilliant result

heard a stat earlier that crouch wage in a week is more than our 1st team combined !.

Great performance by them all, but Davies, Willis (pen aside) and Grimmer were outstanding I thought.

I think the first 4 callers on CWR tonight all said the same thing "i don't normally go now due to owners" so hopefully one or two will stick with us now

I’ve been travelling today and just got back home.

It’s a great result - I think fans really need to appreciate where the club is now and get an understanding of how massive an achievement it is for very lowly paid players to achieve such a result.

I think it’s especially great for those who are too young for the premier days. They’ll see a lot of national media discussing the club and they will see them being the main match on Match of the Day.

I hope the club gets another big game for the next round. Again it will give younger supporters a flavour of what I’ve had for the first 30 years following the club.

Like you I didn't go to this one, as wrote it off as two hours sat in the cold watching a turgid game and inevitable defeat. Now of course I'm annoyed at myself for missing this!

Great result, fab performance by the sounds of things. I switched on Sports Report on BBC Radio 5 Live at 5pm and for the first time in years a Cov win was the first/main story - the match reporter Ian Dennis even specifically remarked that it was not a case of the Stoke players not playing for the manager, it was first and foremost a game won by Cov not thrown away by Stoke.

I did though get annoyed by some of the comments by Stoke fans which BBC radio read out such as "gutted to lose to such a small club", "losing to Coventry is an embarrasment", "terrible defeat for us, never thought we'd lose that" etc etc. Fact check guys, we may be in exile from the Prem but in our 34 years there Stoke was mostly a lower league side, and us beating them in the FA Cup would be entirely routine. Our home ground is bigger than theirs, Cov is a bigger city than Stoke and we've at least won the trophy unlike them. So although we're in a lower division we are NOT a smaller club, our history, fanbase (as shown at Wembley), ground and city are bigger than theirs. We are not a minnow and this was not a giantkilling, this was reality reasserting itself for the first time in a very long time. And all the sweeter for it.

We would probably feel the same. That's football.

Watching today was a (virtually forgotten) reminder why I love football.

Commitment, bodies thrown on the line, good play, passion, skill, and entertaining.

Up there with the best, and Ive seen a few.

As for the 'hurrahs' towards the end, when they had shot after shot blocked, amazing. There must have been about 8 in one go.

Stoke historically have spent a lot of time in the top flight tbf. However, the "such a small club" comments are probably from the 15-20k dickheads who discovered them when they got promoted 10 years ago.

Nice one SW88, followed the game in a Bathroom shop. Just about to pay but watching the SBT thread. Handing over 860 pounds was fine with news like this!

No worries. Good to be back after my one game a sense :)

Were you the dude who text CWR and announced your recent purschase, blaming it on the missus? :)

Smaller club? Really? I think even the most biased Stoke supporter would admit Coventry City are a bigger club than Stoke. Stupid statement by that stoke fan.

Happy days. From the start Stoke seemed flat and bereft of ideas. Other than occasional moments from some of their 'names', I couldn't believe I was watching a Premier League team. No wonder Hughes has gone. And Berahino is awful. Sign him up! We, on the other hand, actually looked quite good. Willis and Davies were assured. Shipley, Bayliss and even Stokes did well. Maguire-Drew looks like he might actually add something positive going forward. McNulty did what McNulty does, although, as usual, he missed what seemed like a fine chance to put City 2-0 up, but in the end it didn't matter. And even Biamou did a job, putting himself about to some effect. Obviously he's never going to score a goal, but that's a worry for another day. Strangely, I thought Doyle was the one City player who didn't stand out as he couldn't influence a less physical game played at a quicker pace than we now see in League Two. Glad I didn't attempt to predict the score.

Good post...for the first 17 years of my life we were a top division team so am happy that I saw us compete at the top level. It's great that the younger fans will see the club making headlines across ye national media. I still can't get used to us beating Stoke being described as a giant killing though!

Many supporters think that football started with their Sky subscription as a Manchester City supporter we had Newcastle fans signing that we had never won in Europe at us the other day even though if you exclude the Intertoto cup we have won a cup in europe more recently than Newcastle!

Well put G, us older ones have had some great times ,and I do feel for the younger fans who have known nothing but abject failure.
This is how it was back in the golden days, teams used to hate coming to Cov as they knew they would be in for a huge battle to take anything away from us

It says a lot about the effort put in by the SBA that we had that atmosphere with 14,000, absolutely phenomenal. And it’s not like the Stoke fans contributed much.

Must have transferred to the players because to a man they were amazing. PUSB

As a long time supporter of Manchester City, today shows the magic of the cup, well played guys and its great to see another team in sky blue making all the headlines (and rightly so tonight), best of luck for the draw and the next round.
You do know we are the original skyblues don't you.
Have a good season make sure bloody United and Chelsea don't win the league.

This is what I've always said , an empty Ricoh is like a morgue but a near full Ricoh is up there with the best.
You get a great atmosphere when it's full.
Still need our own stadium though, or buy into the Ricoh as it's not really our home until we own some of it. That's if we stay

We need to find a way to get Wasps out. Cov doing well is a start. Get people away from Wasps and into Cov.

The smaller the crowds are at the Ricoh the more Wasps will struggle. Would be great if their folly here failed.

LOL well I won't get into that here, but thanks for the best wishes, although an obscure fact about Manchester City they only ended up playing in light blue by accident as Ardwick they wore white shirts but the washing powder gave the shirts a blue tint and the colour stuck

Is that true?

Have to confess I love the football Man City are playing. Like a breath of fresh air and playing football the right way.

I love that Foden of yours too. Maybe a sneaky chance of making the world cup squad this year?
