Stand up if you've never watched Wasps (1 Viewer)

Sorry but if that's your utopia, its certainly not mine.
If we became dependant on Wasps, swapping one bastard of a hedge fund for another I would be done. I want SISU gone, Wasps gone.
It depresses me that your slavish devotion to wasps blinds you to the fact that they are just another faceless hedge fund owner just like SISU, and the Rugby is a side show for the real estate, but if you want the club eternally owned by such shysters I think you will be filling your boots on your own.
We will never be of mutual benefit to Wasps, we will always be at their mercy.

People who think CCFC can manage at the Ricoh if Wasps go are delusional.
Sorry, the way forward needs to include Wasps.

Side stepped again. You just can't bring yourself to say wasps shouldn't be here. they should not have relocated to Coventry!

I said it already in this thread.
Its all about business and this is the best way forward for them.
You can argue the morals into the gutter.

So if it's all just about business and City had to move 85 miles you would support it? Yes? No sidestepping, a straight answer would be appreciated.

Did London Welsh go out of business because they couldn’t secure their own stadium?
Don’t really know anything about Rugby but did someone else say it on here?
If that is correct, did Wasps fans not kick off as much as they actually believed without such a move the club was screwed.
I am damn glad franchising is banned in footy, if SISU said we had to move otherwise the club was finished I just couldn’t believe them, so I wouldn’t be able to accept it.

CCFC in L2 85 miles away ?
I'm already reviewing CCFC in L2 only 1 mile away next season.
No i wouldn't go. Wont happen anyway.

Never asked if you would go. I asked if you would support the move if it was purely down to business reasons. As I said a straight answer would be appreciated.

If I supported it I would go. So the answer is no I wouldn't support it..
Surely they would need to change the name so in that respect I could not relate.
Wasps is a universal name and in effect can drop in anywhere. (As they have)
I suggest if they became Coventry Wasps a lot of fans would be lost for the same reason of not relating to it.

They changed the name just before the move.

50% of their fans signed a petition demanding they stay in the area - funny how in every post you keep saying you don’t know about rugby - not interest in wasps but post far more than about ccfc games - laughable really

Yes I signed it as you did :))
I'm looking to CCFC future as it lies in an agreement with Wasps.
Your like Sisu, pushing CCFC to the cliff edge instead of looking for an olive branch.
Not interested in Wasps ? I'm a season ticket holder and I've never missed a Ricoh game.
I would rather keep quiet on our poor CCFC season rather than criticise a squad that is underfunded and trying their best.
But hey you can keep helping them by slagging individual squad members.

Out of interest how many times do I post about Wasps and how many times do I post about CCFC?

I'll help.
They had attendances of 6000 at Wycombe.
The petition had 3000 signatures.
Where it falls down though is a lot of CCFC fans signed the petition as I guess would Leicester, Worcester and Northampton fans.

More interesting at the time was a poll by the Coventry Telegraph asking readers would they welcome Wasps to Coventry and 53% said yes.

Successful Move ? 6000 average at Wycombe and 16,000 in Coventry.
Sometimes people just need to see the bigger picture.

CT also did a poll 2 years after they arrived at the Ricoh, the question was:
Two years after Wasps played their first game at the Ricoh do you support the move?
58% Yes 42% No

I’m sure Milton Keynes supported the move of a professional football club to the area.

Hardly paints a positive picture does it?

All I can see is jealously and bitterness.

Not particularly jealous or bitter. It's just hilarious watching the people who constantly go on about their morals, preached about their strong spines and what's right and wrong go out of their way to defend something worse than they were outraged about. People wonder why Wasps threads go on and on but SISU ones don't, it's because they have people like you, Peeler, Tony and others to say they have done nothing wrong over and over.

I guess they did.
They looked at the many positives rather than a few negatives.

Question.
If Wasps had not arrived what state would the Ricoh be in now.
Feed into your answer that CCFC only returned because SISU knew that Wasps were coming.

I like most people look at it quite differently.
What is best for my community and my enjoyment ? (In my case you can add financial gain)
I can justify this because Wasps fans travel in numbers and I can honestly say I only hear positives from them.
I hear that it was the only 'realistic' option for Wasps and how much they enjoy the match day experience.
You show me differently, but try and avoid the 2014 initial reaction and be more up to date.

Since when did people get their morals and principles from what other people do? That's my point.

I can 100% say if CCFC moved away 85 miles for good and changed their name I'd be completely done whether they got shit loads of new fans from it or not. I wouldn't need to know whether other people enjoy it or not for it to make up my mind.

I can also say if a Premier League team moved to Coventry I wouldn't support them either, no matter if they had shit loads of fans saying how great it was or if they had Real Madrid in the Champions League.

I wouldn't need to find out what others thought before making up my mind.

You keep bringing up Morals and principles !!
Stop fighting Wasps fans battles, the majority don't care.

I rarely bring up my own morals or principles, when I do they are consistent.

The thing is though, other people don't seem to be very consistent and seem to want to get their views from what other people do.

If CCFC moved 80 odd miles, changed their name and got loads of new fans who loved it. Would that be OK? MK Dons get bigger attendances than AFC Wimbledon, does that mean that was OK?

Funny really the ones shouting and bringing wasps up in every thread then accuse others of only talking about Wasps.
Stop bringing it up and then they don't need to answer.
As with everything else associated with our club we will not change anything.

If people had been as venomous against our owners as they are about a team who play a sport they care nothing about, maybe the outcome would have been different.
Just support the lads like you kept saying in the past.
