Maddison has been recieving rave reviews for his performances this season. Some fans going as far as saying hes the best player since Martin Peters at the club and is potentially worth 20 million plus.

His goals last two weeks simply stunning.

Anyone hazard to guess his sell on clause? 15/20%????

They really are hoping he stays till the end of the season.

hopefully we had forsight to put one in

i would imagine so as when anderson sold him he kept talking about benefiting the club for years etc

i always thought maddison was a better talent than wilson, will be interesting to see how far he goes.

Im hoping a minimum of 10%! He carrys on playing the way he is scoring worldys.(still drooling over the last two goals he scored).. he will be gone as early as January.

Not an insignificant windfall if it happens, lets pray he stays fit unlike Wilson. And when it happens the money is re invested into the club. Live in hope.

I would be very surprised if it's not at least 20%

My colleague is a Norwich fan and they're not exactly pouring their hearts out for him just yet!

He's done well the past few games. Hopefully this continues....good luck to the lad. And here's hoping we do have a nice sell on clause.

Thats exactly what im hoping, game changing amount could be in excess 4 million.

SIsu no doubt keeping tabs...im sure as he is scoring goals in their first team there maybe little bonuses to us from appearances and goals also.

How is he not in England under 21 squad? Still only 20.

Because he hasn't been consistent yet? He's only just starting to find his feet in the Championship if he does it for the next few months I'm sure he will be in the next squad.

I'll hold my hand up and admit I was sceptical as to whether he'd step up while at Norwich. Not because I thought he wasn't good enough as he was clearly talented but because he seemed quite immature even for his young age. I envisaged him maybe dropping down to L1 for another season with someone but perhaps that loan spell at Aberdeen did him a lot of good. Pleased for him and hope he does get a big money move somewhere so that we can get a bit more back for the years we spent on his development.

The terms for most young players getting their first transfer almost always include a relatively large sell on percentage
There might also be other conditions where extra payments accrue, for example if a club gets promotion and so on

The initial amounts we received for Wilson and Madders, really did not reflect their true value. Compare Wilson to Asombolonga, both scored 23 goals in League 1, similar age, similar amount of starts( Wilson has more appearances due to sub appearances. Wilson is sold for around 3 million plus add ons, Pboro get 5 millionplus add ons...

I did say to someone close to him around the time he was leaving that he'd do better in the higher leagues as the referees are better. He clearly has the talent and is now getting the protection from officials that was sadly lacking in league 1.

Someone on the Norwich forum believes they managed to sign him ahead of Spurs and other Premier League clubs due to the big sell on fee.

We sold him for way too little. I wouldn't be surprised if it was 15%.

If Jacob Murphy can be sold for £15m, Madderz should get double.

He's a good player (with potential to be very, very good) but people are talking as if he's already just behind Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar for World Player of the Year. As SkyBlueGod mentioned, he's not yet consistent and has had a few good games for the Canaries, albeit with a couple of class goals.

I remember when Billy Daniels had a few good games for us at the beginning of the season a few years back (albeit, not with worldies). #jm10 needs to play consistently for a few months before people can even start to think about sell on clauses.

Assombalonga, had had a good season at Southend the season before though, and there were worries that Wilson could have been a one season wonder at the time.
Not only that but Watford had a reported 50% sell on clause on Assombalonga, so in reality they got less money than we did.

Good luck to Maddison, but I seriously cant see what all the fuss is about.

He is talented, but is not yet an all round player. As much as I have seen the skills he has shown for Norwich this season I have also seen other games where he is stood around like a spare part as the opposition score.

People forget Sheffers scoring great free kicks and getting plenty of Goal Assists for the Blues when he went to them and they won the league. In the Premier League he found life a lot tougher. That is where I see Maddison at the moment.

Well except Maddison had played less than 20 games when we sold him, and scored 4 goals at league one level.

Murphy has made over a 100 appearances and averages about 1 goal in 4/5 games at every level he has played at so far. Also played well at u21 levels.
Then have to take into account the 2 1/2 year difference in the time they were sold, inflation in prices meant Murphy’s price was always going to be a lot higher.

He's bang average and wasn't worth any more than we got - ask Grendel (dons tin hat!)

He's only just establishing himself as a championship player - the fans aren't exactly raving about him.

Murphy is worth more based on their careers so far

So far its been fabulous move for him. Really great to see him do well as we have an invested interest in him.

The move has already been a huge success for himself and is probably way ahead of schedule in his developement of where he imagined he would be. It was the right decision to move on from coventry (who would have thought he would be regular in their first team so soon).
Hes cemented his place in the team ahead of internationals in a top championship club. At the age of 20.

Early days but they seem to have so much faith in him that he has already re negotiated a new contract.

Regarding the Norwich fans views on their forum and other threads on their forum it seems hes been playing very well indeed. Long may it continue i for one dont mind his perceived petulance or arrogance as hes been backing it up. Hes a special special talent and still one of our own albeit just (20%).

I hope we have a large sell on clause and he moves for a lot of money. CCFC then might get enough money to do another search for some land for a new stadium.

I was talking to a Norwich fan who was singing Maddison's praises the other day
Mind you based on past conversations with this berk he's one of those types who will be slagging him off next week if he has a single bad game
Typical football fan really............

I think it's between 10-15%. When Norwich renewed his contract they tried to buy the clause off us but Fisher refused.

Doesn't take a genius to see how good Maddison is. We sold him too cheap.
