However, if he straight out says that CCFC and SISU are exactly the same thing . As "only dealing with the club" is still dealing with SISU. That's what I thought there may be context to it.

ie. "if requiring major investment, CCFC and SISU may as well be the same thing as it would need to go through Joy".

That's the thing, people will say the FL should insist we play at the Ricoh but that doesn't work. Wasps can just say no or they can say we want £1m a season. If they know we have no other option we're screwed.

And then it opens the Football League up to some sort of action as well, some that SISU may actually have a chance of winning.

Wasps say they won't even talk with you unless SISU, who you have no power over, stop legal action against CCC.

CRFC say they are keen to help but not while legal action is ongoing which as before you have no power over.

What other options are there in the city?

As much as we all hate SISU and what they have done to the club at this point, IMO, we have to put the club first. Having the club still playing in the city is the most important thing to me and if that means a short term shift of focus to pressure Wasps and CCC then that's what we should do.

I don't want to be sat here this time next year wondering how the hell we've ended up at Sixfields or god knows where else it might be.

That's what was going to happen around the time of Wasps at the Higgs. That's when it was first made obvious about the PR stuff and it worked a treat.

People are too angry at SISU they see somebody like Wasps doing something against CCFC as a victory over SISU and it's great.

What realistically can they do though?

Even though the legal action is stupid, while they legally have the option they are allowed to. The football league couldn't demand legal action is stopped and make the "drop legal action else we take the golden share" stuff. They could try and mediate to get it sorted, but they can't demand it's stopped. They would then open themselves up massively to all sorts of shit.

They can't demand we play at the Ricoh while other people own it, they also can't demand Wasps let us play there.

The other thing is that the FL are in contact all the time about things, not just this meeting for an update.

Which is why I am saying it isn't made very clear and that's quite clear the view it's giving to people.... BHSB started a new thread just with the quote about CCFC and SISU being the same thing, so you can tell that out of the whole article that's what he took from it.

The way it is worded is pretty obvious, hence 2 people felt the need out of the whole article to just focus on that as soon as they read it.

It's a real worry. What can the FL do? Really? They could chuck us out of the league and that would be that.

We're in the hands of two rugby clubs now. Can they / will they deal with CCFC and SISU?

To be honest if I was involved on the decision on the FL side (and didn't have any connection to Cov) it would be very tempting to just say kick them out and that's the end of the problem.

We're in L2 playing in an empty stadium, sure there would be a few articles when it happened but would anyone outside of Cov really be that fussed?

It would open up the floodgates for stadium owners though, imagine if the Port Vale owner managed to sell the club but still owned the stadium and then said "OK I want £10m a year otherwise you have to move out and you know the FL will just kick you out of the league they did Coventry".

They would have to make decisions on how much it opens them up from other things too I think.

True - the FL probably need to ensure the actual clubs own their ground. No idea if that is practical or achievable.

I'm not sure how they would enforce it though, plenty of clubs don't own them already in the FL. If a club doesn't own their ground and hammers the conference would they not let them up because of it, that means again the stadium owner could say "well I want £100m for this stadium so you can go into the league".

It would be amazing if it was the case, but it's one of those rules where it would need to be there from the start and strictly adhered to without umbrella companies etc etc.

You can protest against Wasps, CCC, CRFC & Football league it won't make any difference to the outcome, or influence Joy's decisions.
Because the only decision maker regarding CCFC is Joy. If Joy like last time decides to take the club out of Coventry she will.
CCFC wasn't forced out of Coventry last time and it will be the same again.
She also knows the sheep on here will follow like last time because they believe they are only dealing with CCFC!

I don't have any answers to our clubs predicament and probably like the rest of us run out of ideas long ago. Whatever Joy's plans are have to run their course and hope we still have a club at the end of it.
I'm currently not in favour of a match boycotts and protests, i have been in the past. Past protests were worth it as they raised the profile of our plight.
If Joy decides to take us out of Coventry again though this would require a 100% boycott to nip it in the bud as early as possible.

That's the point I am getting at and what get's blurred.

If I am looking to buy the club or offer investment into a stadium it would be Joy / Dermot, if I wanted to sponsor at the side of the pitch or buy a box I'd speak to somebody in commercial at CCFC. People are far too keen to blur the 2 together and make out the club is SISU because then if something happens to CCFC it's getting one over on SISU or it's happening to SISU.

Somebody could go and petrol bomb SISU's office tomorrow and nobody would really care, however when it's against actual CCFC it's different. People seem to want to merge them together so when something bad happens to CCFC it's seen as against SISU and nobody bats an eyelid.

The key for me is all parties closing down all alternative avenues to ensure that CCFC has no choice but to sign up to stay at the Ricoh (in a way that makes sense for us as a club of course). Sadly I doubt the FA/FL will care particularly.

In supporting your club you are categorized as "sheep"? Surely the desire of any fan is to ensure its survival?
Fighting to keep the club alive is the action you should be taking and the best way to do that is getting behind the team.

If I was the council I would be doing everything I could to help the football club as its important to the city and that would be my primary aim over sticking one to the clubs current owners. Although if I was in that positon I wouldn't have made it so hard for the club in the first place or sold the ground to Wasps.

If you're talking from Wasps perspective I would certainly be looking to do a deal. A successful CCFC playing at the Ricoh would be hugely beneficial to my business.
Of course there is the alternative argument that forcing CCFC out of the city would also be to my benefit as it decreases competition. Which route to take would depend on what is more important, the short term or the long term.

The idea that if one company is taking legal action against another all business between the two stops is complete nonsense. Companies involved in legal action work together all the time.
Who has been the biggest supplier of iPhone parts since the phone launched? Samsung. Who are Apple suing for $2bn for patent infringement? Samsung.

Think that's the least of the problems. Look at some of the London 2012 venues that went up very quickly and were all temporary.

Well yes but they all had prior approval/planning permissions and all the funding commercial partnerships in place, well in advance. We're nowhere near that stage.
