Checked out this and been told that it is next seasons ST sales.

Do you have a source? Is it a written confirmation ... then please copy/paste the content.

I am never one to ever come out with rumours or exclusives or "my source says" etc.

This is the first time I have ever done this. I asked around and was told that the club borrowed against this season's and next season's season ticket sales. Not saying it's right or wrong, but that's what I've just been told and it was on this person's understanding.

Unfortunately I cannot say anymore than that.

Whether it's true or not I most certainly wouldn't be surprised if it did turn out to be factual.

So this is simply more 'heresay' and not real evidence.

The problem with borrowing against future income is obvious - future income is very fluffy and hard to determine with any sort of precision.

No offense Otis, but it makes no financial or logical sense to me.

I will post the email, but have to blank out the source at his own request as he doesn't wish to be quoted, which then pretty much makes the whole thing redundant doesn't it, but here goes anyway.

Hi Otis,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. As I understand it the borrowing has been done against both this season's season ticket sales and next.

But please don't quote me on any message board/website etc.

Regards,

Mr X

I put the Mr X in there just to be clear. :D

I contacted the CT and other people too. Can't say where this came from.

Do think it is feasible however, especially with this lot in charge to borrow on a projection.

The one thing I feel I miss out on is actually being there. Not sure this makes me less of a fan as I would go to every match if I could. If I am on nights I wake up in the middle of my sleep to listen to the match and/or keep a close eye on scores. Most others don't wake up just so they can check a football score but not sure this would make me a bigger fan than someone not in a situation where they could do that.

Fair play mate. You make a good point.

Difficult message but if you give money to Sisu you encourage them to stay. Cov fans should refuse to buy season tickets. It's your patriotic duty now to protect the club you love by forcing administration or a sale of the club. We aren't any old club we are CCFC. We aren't a small club we are a mod size club starved of cash. Do your duty refuse to buy a season ticket for 2012 off Sisu!

I am a Coventry fan. If I decide to buy a season ticket then that is my prerogative and I will be damned if I am considered any less of a fan for doing so. It is irresponsible posts like this that cause resentment and friction. You want to protest then fine - go ahead - but do not tell me what I should or should not do, nor judge me for exercising my freedom of choice to support my club and call me a traitor for doing so.

An anonymous source is all a bit unreliable to my mind, the organisation that loaned the money would want a AAA rating before they lent any money, so borrowing against this seasons sales last June is one thing, but against next year when there is no certainty about the division City would be in (they were always favourites to be demoted) is a risk of quite a different order (a Junk bond).

But it has to be an anonymous source.

The person stated categorically that they didn't want to be quoted on a message board or a football forum.

You think I should betray that promise?

It wasn't the Coventry Telegraph.

I think if you are someone who will buy a season ticket no matter how badly the owners treat you. I am nog passing comment on whether that is a good or bad thing. Would you consider leaving buying it to the absolute last second that means it still would not financially impinge on you. However it still may encourage sisu to try and tempt you back by lifting the embargo and signing a couple of players.

Just a thought no judgement on whether you should get one it not. But may be worth a punt to tryvand force their arms a bit. Can't really see any other poewer that we have.

Well I kinda renewed before the seasons end so I've already signed up for more. Way I see it most teams who have bounced back up kept an attendance up. Sisu aren't going to liquidate us by the sounds of it based on a couple of topics today but unless some white knight comes in and rescues us, we're stuck with them or no-one.

The season ticket boycott is similar to king Canute. Misguided folly is the politist way I can discribe this. Really it's very self defeating on every count. No one is giving money to sisu in the same way they weren't to richardson mcginnity and co. It's done to support their team and their passion. If you can divorce yourself from that one suspects it was hardly there anyway. This debate should stay in the sixth form debating society where it belongs.

A ridiculous suggestion . 'Traitor'?
I don't support SISU I support my team. I don't think of it as giving money to SISU but to CCFC to put a team out to support. That will continue long after SISU have departed.

but you are giving money to SISU they own CCFC, and will there be a team to suppport next season ??? and if there is will they invest your money in the team ?? they are the questions that need answering (but you are not a traitor if you buy a ticket and you are not a poor fan if you dont buy one either)

I cannot believe a real fan who had dispoable income would not consider purchasing because of the owners. It's just another pathetic excuse - well I would go if....

As a season ticket is the most cost effective way of watching the team I fear this argument is how do you say? Bollocks

what is a real fan? why are people being classed as proper fans or traitors ?

What a fecking stupid comment, fans who brought tickets are even more loyal than anyone else!

I already have mine, I support my football club, if that makes me a traitor then so be it, I am not happy with this situation but there's little I can do to change things, I think Sisu, Thorn & the majority of the players are useless wankers.

A fair comment BSB as indeed I have said that. All I can say is I have found numerous excuses not to go in 40 years but then have always renewed. I have never even thought of poor owners as a reason. It's bizarre.

Words like "traitor" is not appropriate on either side of this. This is not the Cold War its football. If I am honest I would say a fan - being a fanatic will attend regardless of outside influences so a true fan will purchase a ticket (within financial parameters of course). However, those who can afford but choose not to I would class as supporters.

There is 2 sides of this case.

1. Some ppl thinks that if they wont turn up, then SISU will leave because Rioch is half empty and seasontickets is low. I do understand this side of thinking, its pretty normal.

2. As football supporter you SUPPORT your team, even if SISU is there, even if we suck, even if we dont get any players in, if should be clear for all that any new buyers, would ofc like to see as many fans in the stadium before they buy the club.

My view is, that we all here support Coventry City! I dont care if SISU or somethingels had the club. They still need your support in all the way they can, sadly im living in Denmark, but i would be the first to get a seasonticket every year if i could. Maybe some ppl should rather think like this - 5000ppl singing " We want SISU out" or 15000 singing the same thing, it cant be hard to guess the 15000 will be make sounds.

Traitors for showing your club support. What a load of Bollocks

Spot on Woody. A misguided thread and one that really does alienate those who would burn our club to the ground without a thought for the consequence.

If you want to buy a season ticket then do so. If you do not want to buy a season ticket, then don't. The decision does not make you a fan for the better or for the worse.

I got mine,I ain't going food shopping or hoovering on a Sat its football all the way,I got my season ticket cos we need six thousand to break even on the loan sisu took out last season,I hate sisu but love my club and if buying a season ticket helps save our club then so be it,I know a few people that won't but a season ticket cos of sisu but we end up on a merry go round people won't buy a season ticket if sisu are there and sisu won't invest if there's no money so I'm doing my bit to help the club rightly or wrongly until an investor is found we only have sisu and if u want to watch city you at some point have give them money, away tickets will be like gold dust due to the small grounds so its not likely you will get tickets for away games if ur not a season ticket holder,I'm just thinking if the people not buying season tickets would go to a cup game if we got man u or arsenal at home ........
