Many things ..
Mowbray didnt get the scouting system in place HE brought Venus in to sort out. Wasn't done. Recruitment was shocking in the summer.
Venus poor manager shouldn't have ever been given the job needed to go with Mowbray.
Slade - enough said awful decision poor manager, panic buyed with Yakubu and couple of others!

Robins - gives us hope, talks sense got some good results. But ultimately out of his hands and to little to late I'm afraid. Hopefully he can have a good summer and win promotion next season.

What a load of bollocks. Slade not winning a game is why we are relegated
One point from safety when Slade was appointed ! 17 I think it was when he got sacked. The same players Slade had at his disposal have won three drew one and won a cup final. Tony Mowbray along with Mark Venus have a lot of responsability for our eventual relegation but the Russell Slade period put the tin hat on it.

BBC says 'outside the UK'
Not scoring enough goals was the main reason. Our top scorer has, what 4 goals?
Not signing one or two recognised goal-scorers was the main reason.
Having two sub-standard goal-keepers didn't help.

The decision making at the club is shocking which ultimately involves pulling the rug under every manager that's ever been hired.

So we can look at the managers and decision they have made on a result Basis but they are only a part of the problem. Robin's has proved to be the best but has already walked once so don't be shocked if he does again.

Recruitment was key; TM set targets, Venus couldn't/didn't acquire them. Then Venus hired Slade.

Enough said. Then again, if Venus wasn't up to the task, why were his services retained? Ask Tiny Tim.

All in all, relegation has occurred due to a catalogue of fatal errors, from the boardroom to the dressing room.

Saying that, if TM wins automatic promotion with Blackburn next season, we'll know it was all Timmy and Venus's fault.

Ironic in a way that the thing we all welcomes (Mowbray and Venus insisting on total control of all football matters) is the thing that has sunk us. From the botched recruitment to the terrible start under Mowbray with him constantly telling everyone the team wasn't as good as last year, to Venus taking over himself and the final blow of appointing Slade.

You have to wonder what might have happened if when Mowbray went Fisher had told Venus to go as well and got Robins in then.

Mowbray gets huge blame from me. Not getting us into the play offs (at least) last season was unforgivable.

I agree.

If Mowbray had left us in the top six then I would say you might be able to argue it wasn't his fault. However, he left us in the relegation zone so he cannot be excused.

The reality is, Mowbray, Venus, and Slade along with the board are all accountable for this season.

I just hope now with Robins at the helm, our stay in League 2 is a short one and we can bounce back.

We have been in a downward spiral for too long and our response every 15-18 months is to change the manager and start again. We have no long term planning concerning the team and every season we seem to sign 8-10 players and hope they gel. It is not all down to budget as there are teams at the top of L1 like Scunthorpe & Fleetwood who would love our budget but they have progressively built a team and it gets tweaked every transfer window, even the change of a manager does not change the plans they have in place. Maybe Mowbray should have not released as many players at the end of last season without replacements, maybe he shouldn't have chased players who were never going to join and signed players more suited to L1, maybe Venus shouldn't have taken over, maybe Slade shouldn't have come in & maybe Robins should have directly replaced Mowbray and we may have survived. We need to end this downward cycle and get a plan in place and maybe we'll start moving upwards again

Not giving Mowbray the backing in the summer and two thirds of the season between him going and robins coming in were our downfall

What does not backing Mowbray actually mean? Tone wants to sign a championship player on £20k a week and doesn't persuade him to come?

Sorry won't wash. His performance since the start of January 2016 was inexcusable.

We beat Gillingham 2-1 under Slade. He was shite though. His and mowbray's 10 games are the main reasons we went down, as well as poor recruitment, shit owners, negative stench that has lingered around the club for years

Don't forget the players. poor passing abilities. midfielders who sit too deep. strikers that can't score. goalkeepers mistakes. they take some of the blame surely?

Some of course. but robins has shown they more than capable of picking up pts. Just needed a manager in charge of them for longer
