This is the outcome when you have a fool in charge. If this statement was released yesterday it would have taken the sting out of the release of season ticket details.
There has been a 24 hour period where negativity has been given free reign and spread amongst even the most benign posters.
Some on here who advocate starving the club of money, the same are also foaming at the mouths at the cost of tickets!

If less people buy STs and we have a good start to the season, we might a bigger walk up and with on the day prices higher the ST prices (by game), we could actually be better off in a weird way.

This all depends on Robins giving the team a good start to the season. Increase in gate money between Sept-Dec 'could' give us more to play with in the January transfer plan.

Highly unlikely I know and a dick-ish thing from the club but it might actually work in Robins favour!

Yeah I agree. This is when lack of income hits home. As you say a token reduction - even 5% - wouldn't haven't caused any fuss. They have an opportunity to give something back but again they messed it up.

Sorry to hear that. I'm still going to some games, mostly away. I still want us to win that league first up. but doubt it. Coventry City Chairman Tim Fisher would like to address the concerns of the fans following Season Ticket launch...



Firstly, I’m very pleased to welcome Tommy Widdrington to Coventry City this week, to head up our player recruitment programme.

The manager and I feel this appointment is the cornerstone of the football department; Tommy is tasked with finding and securing the right playing talent for the football club going forward.

The club also announced details and prices for next year’s Season Tickets yesterday. Understandably, this has been met with some concerns from fans.

We are unlike most other football clubs, in that we do not benefit from non-ticketing revenue. The club does not get either matchday non-ticketing revenues or non-matchday revenues. We are therefore pushed to generate most income via ticketing means, and this puts pressure on the current Season Ticket pricing structure.

As a club, we are fully aware that other League One clubs have ongoing ticket promotions and offers. Unfortunately, Coventry City FC are not in a position to replicate these, despite wanting to reward our loyal supporters.

Our Season Ticket prices are still in keeping with most clubs in League One and Two and we are especially pleased to be able to continue to offer JSB’s U13 a FREE Season Ticket - and hope this helps with the cost of a family visit to the Ricoh Arena.

The club also wanted to reward its returning early bird Season Ticket holders, and new purchasers, with a FREE ticket to the club’s first cup game of the upcoming season. Hopefully we can replicate the fantastic cup success of this season!

We’re also absorbing the £6.00 processing charge in the early bird period.

The manager wrote about togetherness and unity in his address, and I’d like to echo the same sentiment. Whilst the club simply aren’t able to underwrite any reduction in ticket prices, we are supporting Mark Robins with as much financial backing as is feasibly possible.

All available spend will be allocated to the team. We want to enjoy a successful year on the pitch in 2017/18 and we need the fanbase, where possible, to support the manager during this rebuilding process

It's the lack of understanding that now more than ever the club need to win the fans over and come and get them back. There is a definite lack of understanding about how the fans feel at the moment.
People have been stung so many times a lot will wait to see how the season starts and what signings are made.
Which is a catch 22 as without the ticket sales the signings will be less.
What's required is an understanding of this feeling by SISU. A determination to do something about it. A cash investment to make the signings to convince fans. An extension of the early bird scheme. With a big marketing campaign on the back of the signings and a big deal made about the cash investment and backing MR.
Instead It just seems more of a case of they will buy tickets no matter what. Then when the shit has hit the fan. Release a statement and blame the deal we have at the Ricoh. Unfortunately most fans know we are stuck in that deal because the same people setting the prices for tickets screwed up the negotiating to buy ACL.

Come and sit next to me and my lad for a game and you will see how much he is in to Coventry City. We may well be a lower league side but to most kids that doesn't matter. They support who they support. My son's friend suppports Maidstone United and goes to see them every weekend with his dad. Yeah, there are Utd, Man City, Chelsea fans, etc in his class but they never go and watch real football. Sky is all they have.

My lad has gone to football holiday club today as I have hospital appointments and he proudly wore his CCFC away kit - and his home one when he went yesterday. When I dropped him off he was the only one who wasn't wearing a Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona, Man City, Chelsea, Real Madrid kit, etc.

At first I saw no real problem with the headline "Season Ticket Prices held" as I had seen that coming, there didn't appear to be any real option. All the pleas for better pr (i.e. improved bullshit), gifts (I've got 2 scarves already sodon't need another one thank you,),ow percentage reductions,were not likely to make any real difference to most people and would probably have now discernible impact on the numbers sold as most have already made their minds up. What really annoyed me was to find that my seat in block 37 had just been upgraded to Premium or whatever they call it with no apparent increase in benefits. Apart from the untruth in the headline what sort of incentive is that?

Why should I be forced into even considering these options? Do I cough up the extra just to continue watching the rubbish we've seen for most of this season, do I move to somewhere else in the ground or do I just say "bollocks" and end over 50 years of active support for CCFC?

SkyBlueCharlie, I would never presume to tell you what to do but like you I have 50 years of support behind me and I know that I would not be able to end that over a few pounds and poor communication from the fools.
I would however contact them and let them know that they are penalizing you without consultation and you are not happy with it.
