At fault for Millwall's second last week. After playing well in a couple of draws after Slade's appointment was terrible today and unbelievably selected over Turnbull and Harries. Roasted for the first today. Should have cleared when RCC dropped for the second but was stationary and 1 of 3 who watched their player run through for the 3rd. On top of that he can't pass.

Not great but havn't seen him play as badly as Clarke today. MOM on Tuesday and as for selecting Foley over DKE.
Agree 110% over dropping DKE for Foley! He's old and past it with no pace and adds nothing to the team. At least CCFC means something to DKE. He's not just here for a last seasons pay day.
Turnnbull and Clarke however........ As bad as Clarke may be I don't think we can jump on slade for not picking Turnnbull after ONE good performance.
All season long Turnnbull has been hammered on here, we get a replacement who turns out to be shit and ppl are calling on reinstating him! Really?

Agree Turnbull is no Bobby Moore but why drop a player when he has had his best game. Wycombe's forward line are better than Oldham's.

Only good player over 30 I can think of in the last few season's is Joe Cole and even then we managed his game time. If we are going down go for the youth. As I have said on others threads our under 18s with Willis, Stevenson, Thomas, Haynes and DKE would beat our first team.

If these players were good every week, they would not be playing in League One. I don't think you can expect consistency at this level.
Everyone was calling for more experience, now all the older players are 'old and past it'.

A bit amusing actually, when they were signed people used it to beat mowbray over the head with as to why he didn't sign players of the calibre of clarke and Foley. When pointed out they could turn out to be another Henderson, ricketts, hunt they weren't having any of it.

the point is that we have better players of our own. The amount of quality you can bring in when bottom of league 1 makes it pointless when we have some good young players such as Dion, Harries and Stevenson not to mention the under 18's who have scored 16 goals in 2 games without conceding. I don't buy that experience is in any way useful when you have limited ability and legs are gone - Clarke and Foley. Overall id rather see us going down with our young players playing every week rather than the old 'experienced' players we have.

People were complaining that we were having to play our youngsters, and other clubs youngsters on loan, and that they didn't cut it in the rough and tumble of Div 3. So the club brings in some experience and now we want to play our own youngsters, even the U18s. The sort of experience we need is not going to come to a low wage club. We can only get players who are going one season too long.

Mowbrays permenant signing record at the club was abysmal. Also releasing players like Phillips and Martin and replacing them with even less experienced doppelgänger a was laughable.

Exactly so we may as well play our young players. I for one wasn't complaining about experience in January I just wanted some quality which wasn't available. Experience doesn't matter - ability does

We were all excited about getting the likes of Clarke and Foley but as it turned out there was a reason they couldn't get a game for other teams at our level. It's not looking like either are going to go on to be club legends.

Odd how turnball has his status elevated on the back of last week having received dogs abuse all season
Turnbull is very poor serious lack of pace if you turn him at all he hasn't a hope of getting back. He got lucky in the second half against Wycombe when he got turned but managed to get a nick on the ball if he missed that we were down to 10 men. I wouldnt be campaigning to see him back in the team. I think mogga was sold a pup

You think Stuart Beavon is no good then?

I keep seeing comments through SBT saying stuff like 'Slade has got the defence sorted, he just didn't get amend our attacking issues.' What?! Sorry!? He has sorted the defence? I'm pretty sure if someone had the time/effort to work out GA per game it has gotten worse since he took over. How that classes as 'sorting defence' i dont know. Sign a few 30+ defenders who have once played at a higher level and everyone gets giddy. We never learn.

'Sorting the defence out' as well as 'strengthening the defence's was all about numbers.

He brought in two CB's, one of which was very experienced and an experienced right back too.

THAT'S what people mean when they said sorting the defence out and strengthening.

A lot of people, myself included, stayed the above before we had seen the players even pull a City shirt on.

Bringing in 3 defenders IS strengthening the defence. You are adding to our defence. Both Clarke and Foley came with very good pedigree too, so fans also looked at that too.

I don't think Nathan clarke is that bad, you put a fast organised defender like Willis along side him and a seasoned keeper behind I think you stand a better chance. He's errors in him naturally as he's a division 3 defender, you'll be hard pushed to find one that's not... if you do he will be snapped up quickly!
I not think rawson is his ideal partner as he's still young himself, Willis has that bit more experience.
Willis and clarke together you'll see a good partnership

Rawson looks..... well, raw. Clarke was definitely at fault for the first goal on Saturday.

Am expecting so much more from him.

Biggest disappointment for me so far out of the Slade signings is Foley, who has shown nothing from what I have seen.

Get the feeling you might be right, once Willis is back it may well be Clarke and Willis.

As I don't rate Haynes as a left back I still maintain that Jordan Turnbull should be given a go there.

ahah look at you. now its strengthening equals numbers and nothing else.

you hate admitting when you are wrong. very childish

go on play victim and say im twisting your words.

no doubt you very happy at start of season when mowbray "strengthed" our attack

Not sure how Clarke kept his place in the side after the shambles of the Clarke and Turnbull show against Swindon. Just seen last night's goals, at fault with Rawson for the first and missed a tackle for the next. That said, where was Foley who was meant to be protecting the back 4.

Would Ocassionally get bullied but play DKE Harries Willis and Haynes.

Slade did pick the 6 players he brought in. I think we can now judge Fisher after the transfer window.

Yes I was.

Hadn't seen any of them play on the whole, but he brought in plenty of options so at the time I was very happy.

Never ever said such a thing and you know it you completely demented lunatic. ;) Ha, ha!!!

Never ever said strengthening ONLY means in terms of numbers only.

Mogga eyes one more loan for Sky Blues

Here though it talks of Mowbray deciding to strengthen because he has depleted numbers. Don't know for certain but I think this may have been when we brought Peter Ramage in.

Loads of examples of the same sort thing out there in articles on the internet about strengthening sides by adding to attacking or defensive options. Lots of talk of beefing up a back line or attack etc. Same thing.

I know you just want a fight (yet again) and you love to try and score little brownie points for some obscurely crazy reason.

I just sit here and laugh at it all.

You really make me giggle. You always talk of someone being an idiot, or a fool, or a child and yet I cannot think of anything more childish than keep calling people fools and idiots and children.

Get a grip son. People are laughing at you, but for all the wrong reasons.

Indeed.

He has always fallen short for my liking. Too many errors in him.

Shame.
