Will Wasps aquiring the Ricoh damage CCFC?

If not, why not?
 
yes, it took away any light at the end of the tunnel. our business plan requires access to matchday revnue and even perhaps 365 days a year. we dont have it and thus ffp is impacted.

also they are stealing fanbase as some mentally weak people think its nice to go to the rugby and drink beer etc

Then yes it has had a negative impact.

In respect of what has caused the damage itself. Our owners creating the situation that allowed Wasps to come in.
 
It will unless sisu drop Wasp related legals, I'm convinced Wasp higherarchy will stick to their guns of no talks whilst legals are live.

The only thing that 'allowed' Wasps to come in was the council. After all, the council said of its loan to ACL in January 2013 (whilst the club was not paying rent):

"We have taken a decision that will benefit city taxpayers and secure the future of one of our most important and best loved public assets that brings great benefits to Coventry people...."

The fact ACL was ever struggling was down to the council who set it up with a £21m debt from day one.
 
I still think that with different owners, WASPS will be prepared to sell 50%

Rent strikes, agreeing deals and then reneging. Moving to Northampton then bluffing about never returning. Ignoring a deadline to put in out best offer.
That allowed the Wasps to sting.

You're just muddying the waters. Wven id that were to happen we would still get a shit deal and be starved of income. And SISU would still be here.

What about when we came back and CCC hinted at future ownership?

Despite SISU there was no excuse to sell the stadium to Wasps. Remember Lucas saying no team should be ripped from its community. She obviously didn't mean Wasps.

I wont go into her statement regarding only agreeing to sale as she'd had assurances indigenous teams wouldn't be adversely affected.

Pardon my French but that was bollocks although I'm sure you can spin it differently.

They definitely wouldn't sell and if they did then it would cost a company in excess of £25 million and also tie the commitment to the bond. It would never happen though

Wrong for wasps to move here.
Wrong that the RFC allow it
Bizarre to make a statement about taking it step by step with the club when they returned. Especially as they must have known they were planning to sell to Wasps.
I think the club only returned because they got wind about Wasps and the resilience of the fans.
However I do believe the club would not have done the deal Wasps did. I do think getting as much money back for the charity is more important than other things.
Non of that changes that our owners style of negotiation and their aim, led to Wasps getting to take advantage and the damage we now have.

Nobody has ever been prepared to buy 50% and split decisions on how the business is run - they've seen how that went with CCC and Higgs, and how hard it was to shift one half of it on without the other.

We all knew that AL was spouting shit and we have been proved right, although tbf they have loaned cov a couple of players lately. It would be interesting though if that would continue should they get promoted in the next year or 2.

I think there's the chance that we could buy the right's to revenue streams, even a share of the naming rights. If not a share of ACL itself. New owners should be looking at the West Ham/Olympic stadium model and try and emulate that. Two things stopping that at the moment. 1) No one want's to deal with our current owners. 2) It ain't going to happen anyway under SISU.
 
No. Stadium is too big and we are too poor to buy it or create a team that will fill it.

Wasps bought a piece of real estate no one else wanted. If us not owning the Ricoh is damaging (and I don't think it is for reasons stated) then it was our choice not to go after it that did the damage.

If I choose not to buy an umbrella, it's not the guy who does buy it's fault I get wet.

3) there's already a main tenant at the arena who needs all the naming rights themselves.

No brainer... YES! It already has and could prove to be terminal.

They didn't purchase real estate they purchased a business.

The analogy is atrocious. It's more like there's on customer who was only ever offered a faulty one full of holes and another who got a brand new model which was 6 times the size and half the price
