I used to holiday in Dorset in the 80's and, used to take in the Bournemouth games when I was down there . so , what players have you seen whilst watching other teams you'd wished you suggested to CCFC ? mine were Eddie Howe , Efan Ekoku and Matty Holland .

I used to go and watch Cradley and Duane Darby was a striker we would have liked, a big and powerful No 9 who knew where the net was.
He went on to play for Hull and Rushden & Diamonds.

So you were familiar with my mate Harry back then? Players used to come in my night club Sinatra's. Did you ever go there?
As for the player question I saw a young John Sheridan at Sheff Wed and a striker David Hirst. Those two would be good in our side today!

Back in 2003 I was watching match of the day when some 18 year old lad caught my eye,
"Absolutely brilliant" Ronaldo was his name.
I did think of calling Peter Read, but thought he'd probably watched it anyway. ;)

I recommended we buy Cyrille Regis.

That was just me shouting from the stands though at a game and I don't think anyone on the bench actually heard me.

Not a major player or anything but I watched Kelle Roos play at Nuneaton a few times and wanted us sign him.

When I lived in Manchester I wrote to the club and got a nice letter thanking me for my support and interest in the club. I recommended the following players who were playing for a mid table second division side Oldham:
Denis Irwin (about two years later signed by Manchester United).
Mick Milligan (the same but signed by Everton)
Frank Bunn (natural goalscorer career cut short by knee injury, but I think still has the record for most goals in a League Cup tie. Coach at Manchester City)

I wrote to Ray Ranson recommending the following who were fringe players at Leicester at the time and unwanted by Ghe club. Max Gradel and Jeff Schlupp.

Ray wrote back and thanked me for the tip off.

I also recommended a right back from Carlisle ( Potts ) to Steve Waggot.

I watch Polish football as well. So many bright young talents. The national team will be immense in 5- 10 years. 2 young talents who have moved for next to nothing this summer Karol Linetty 3mill to Sampdoria and Bartosz Kapustka 6 mill to Leicester. Pitor Zielinski at Empoli is a very good version of Maddison.

Robert Earnshaw looked absolute class as a lad at Cardiff, far better than Simon Haworth.

Admittedly given the choice of Paul Evans and Steve Sidwell at brentford, I'd have plumped for Evans every time. He was the box to box midfielder we lacked!

I saw James Collins (West Ham) captaining Cardiff U21's in a friendly against Forest Green about 12-13 years ago. He was absolutely immense - not surprised he's gone on to have a decent top flight career.

It was actually in a game against us but Yannick Bolasie when he played for Plymouth. Just oozes class and they were in the process of going bust. A few weeks later, Bristol City bought him for £100k and now he's a £30m player.
