The CT article says “The Sky Blue Trust has launched the campaign, and it has the backing of the Telegraph”.
Well, where exactly is that backing? The article has already sunk way down the CT’s web page and will soon be out of sight, out of mind. I call upon the Telegraph to not merely
report on the campaign but to actively
support it. Starting with a leading article that puts the spotlight firmly on the moral obligations of CCC, CSF and Wasps. And as people will have noticed, I’m speaking as someone who hasn’t criticised the Council or Wasps before.
The various plans for Allard Way are just that at the moment – plans. They can be changed and improved. Maybe other sites in and around the city can be brought into the equation. In a place like Coventry it simply cannot be impossible to provide training and academy facilities for two top sports clubs, perhaps jointly. One should
not be at the expense of the other, regardless of the background. Common sense needs to break out NOW. CCFC’s statement yesterday was a good start, but I hope SISU demonstrate a willingness to contribute, rather than just looking for scraps from the table. They need to become lions instead of jackals.
btw it’s stunning that this thread only has 19 posts – if it was just another episode of “Timmy vs. Ann”, it would be well into the hundreds by now
