I see people have jumped on the comments already! Nice!

We all need to get behind something, but it doesn't really outline the plan of what the campaign is.

Just tried to comment, said it was being moderated and has gone! :(

Edit: works now!

I had that to begin with. Got super-paranoid when my first three attempts vanished!

Can only assume there's either a delay on activating accounts that isn't obvious, or they prefer you to reply to comments already there to begin with.

I think the comment section of the CT website is ace.

It's like a meeting place of all those who were rejected from commenting on the Daily Mail website for being to out there!

However, I'm aware people might read comments on the CCFC articles and think it's what most/all fans think, which clearly isn't the case, so obviously not ideal!

It is sadly the impression that people will get when they read articles.

Would think the CET would be a bit more switched on to the abuse it gets.

The Laws of the land state CCC are no disgrace,
The Wasps have acted perfectly legally,
unlike SISU, who are just raping us to death"

Wow.

It's pointless trying to even try and discuss anything, it wont let me press reply to some of them now :(

so now the council haven't done anything wrong because they haven't broken any laws, same as wasps but SISU are breaking laws?

They keep going on about investment, but don't realise the Academy is one of the things that DID get investment!

That comments section should be targeted to get the real picture across

Edit: neither the time or place.

Carry on

Just about certain comments on the telegraph in a similar vein to the Daily Heil.

I saw them, I called it at the time as well on here! Was too obvious!

People on the telegraph dont know about the club funding the academy, how?

I am not sure there is any point going to meet Wasps and the Council etc. They aren't really going to turn round and say "Yeah, we are trying to screw the club hard, not even a bit of spit on the end of it" are they? they will turn on the charm and the PR. They will play the game.

The moment any sort of protest that will be mentioned that might make Wasps look bad then people will try and kill it dead straight away, we have seen it happen.

Protesting is not the answer - SUPPORTING is!

At the moment it looks like:

Putting a reasoned case for CCFC to stay at the Academy

If the financial case is a move to BPA helps both clubs, then supporting the rugby club owners to acquire and develop that stadium. Protesting can usually only antagonise the opponent even more and does not contribute to the intended aim.

The CT article says “The Sky Blue Trust has launched the campaign, and it has the backing of the Telegraph”.

Well, where exactly is that backing? The article has already sunk way down the CT’s web page and will soon be out of sight, out of mind. I call upon the Telegraph to not merely report on the campaign but to actively support it. Starting with a leading article that puts the spotlight firmly on the moral obligations of CCC, CSF and Wasps. And as people will have noticed, I’m speaking as someone who hasn’t criticised the Council or Wasps before.

The various plans for Allard Way are just that at the moment – plans. They can be changed and improved. Maybe other sites in and around the city can be brought into the equation. In a place like Coventry it simply cannot be impossible to provide training and academy facilities for two top sports clubs, perhaps jointly. One should not be at the expense of the other, regardless of the background. Common sense needs to break out NOW. CCFC’s statement yesterday was a good start, but I hope SISU demonstrate a willingness to contribute, rather than just looking for scraps from the table. They need to become lions instead of jackals.

btw it’s stunning that this thread only has 19 posts – if it was just another episode of “Timmy vs. Ann”, it would be well into the hundreds by now :(

My only worry is to the club actually want to keep the academy?
If not all we do is in vain.
Anderson tells us they do but is that actually what the owners want.
If so why are they not screaming about it instead of leaving it to a handfull of supporters.

How prominent was it in the printed version of the CT today?

It's in a fairly prominent panel at the top of the front page, so that's something. The article itself covers much of page 3, but for some reason unlike the website it doesn't mention that the Telegraph are "backing" the campaign. It's not enough IMO, and I hope they get behind it properly as the campaign goes forward. They don't need to take sides or sling mud at this stage - just push for a pause and a mutually-acceptable solution.
