An interesting read which makes brilliant Walsall sound like Real and Bayern combined.

Absolutely no chance hunt will start and extremely unlikely he will be on the bench in my opinion. Mowbray sounded like he wanted him in the U21 side for a bit. He's not been at a club all season so will be way of the pace.

Depending on the fitness of martin and ramage id play the team that beat crewe 5-0....obviously if both are fit you play them both and put rickets to RB. Then bring on new signings towards the end after we're comfortably winning....im feeling a 3-1 city win. 16k

A draw will be fine, but I really fancy our chances. Two draws will be okay to be honest, but ideally we really could do with beating our rivals if at all possible if we want to be real contenders.

This is just the Walsall Match thread. Having said that if we could pick up two draws every game we'd be three points better off than we are.

A very tough game tomorrow they've done well and are going to be a hard team to beat but a must win game for me as it gets us ahead of them and takes the 3 points we lost back.A draw against the mighty Burton next and I would be pleased with the next two games.

Maybe we should stop bigging them up. This is Walsall and Burton, not Real and Bayern. All due respect and all that but we are at home, unbeaten there and this is League 1. If we play well we are better than both IMO. Let them worry about us. Aim to win both, no holds barred.

Think it will tight but edge it 2-1.

Walsall fan here, looking forward to this one.

We haven't really had the best of times at the Ricoh, the 5-1 hammering stands out for me, and I'd hope that we don't get a repeat of that tonight...

We've had a strong start under our new boss Sean O'Driscoll, with 4 wins and 1 defeat (inlcuding the Brentford cup win) with the defeat coming in our last league game, 3-0 against Rochdale. If we play anything like that day, then we could very well be in for a hammering, but if we continue as we have done for most of this season then I would expect a closely fought game which either peters out into a draw, or is decided by a bit of quality from either team.

Your attacking talent is definitely a worry, and I'm looking forward to seeing Sawyers vs Maddison to see how similar they are as number 10s...

We have been very good in our games against the teams higher up the league, off the top of my head we've beaten; Yourselves, Gillingham, Burton, Posh, Millwall and Southend, so as I say it should be a close game.

In terms of a prediction, my head says that in front of a big crowd Cov might just have too much for us going forward but this team has continued to surprise everyone this season and if offered a point now, I would absolutely take it.

Looking forward to seeing the Ricoh reasonably full tonight, as our previous visits have been pretty low-key. Apparently we've sold around 600 advance tickets for tonight, so with walk ups I would imagine just over 1,000 Walsall fans will be there, which should add to the atmosphere!

Good luck for the rest of the season, and next year in The Championship could be fun if us two and Burton go up with the Villa coming down... :D

Yes and thanks for your post. Good luck for tonight but not too much.

Word has it we are expecting around 15-16k so plus your 1000 then gives you an idea of attendance for tonight.

We have also moved all fans into the same stand now so we have much better atmospheres and games now.

As for the result draw has to be favourite but it as you say may well come down to a moment of class. I have to warn you out front 4 of Cole Maddison, Armstrong and Murphy are just lighting and really are clicking now.

Walsall if you don't mind me saying are probably punching above their weight which is not a Go it's me just being real. I'm just hoping that your loss last time out continues in the league.

No worries! Yeah I think most of our fans would agree that we are overachieving in terms of our relative club size to others in the division, along with the size and strength of our squad. I would say though, that the core of our team are some of the most talented in the division; Bradshaw, Sawyers, Lalkovic, Evans (on loan from Man City) Henry, O'Connor and Demetriou have all been fantastic this season and could quite easily make the step up.

I'm not convinced that we can stay the course for automatic promotion, and a lot depends on whether we can keep our prize assets this month, but if we do and we don't have a dramatic Dean Smith-esque collapse, then we should finish comfortably within the play-offs. I think with the signings you've made, along with the fact you actually have a decent manager now, means you will probably pull away from the rest in the coming months. Although who else goes up is anyone's guess!

Moving your fans into the 2 stands does make much more sense, our game against you last year at the Ricoh just looked ridiculous with the crowd only just over 8,000. What a difference a year makes!

How has Joe Cole been? Lots of fanfare when you signed him on loan back in October time (I think?) but haven't heard that much since then...

Should be a good game though, and I'm just hoping we pull off a performance like we have against the other top teams...

Pretty confident for this one. Our players will be nice and rested. I reckon 3-1 to us. Hoping for over 15K.

I agree am confident about a win tonight.
However in all honesty Walsall are the only team to genuinely beat us this year in the League, although that's where Maddison got injured.
The other games we have lost were mainly down to poor referring and the Scunthorpe loss was poor tactics.
Our main problem is selection as its been a long time since we had such a squad of players available. Do not like to knock a player but do hope that Fortune is not involved he brings nothing to the table.

A little disappointed Walsall are not bringing more fans to such a big game just down the M6.
