Pretty sure true left wingers were voting to leave eu in their droves

Real socialists always have. Any genuine left leaning person always did

British jobs for British workers has always been the mantra of the left hasn’t is?

Starmer has more in common with Ted Heath then any other PM from what I can see from him

Boris has finally admitted that his oven ready brexit deal is shit. I thought he said that he wasn’t going to undergo a psychological transformation. Maybe being honest for once in his life was an accident.

I think Tony has voted for every party in existence

Why doesn’t he just accept he’s a Lib Dem. No ideology just climb into bed with the most popular game in town
I think you'll find that's a pretty accurate description of one Mr. A.B.D. Johnson

WTF are the government fucking around breaking international treaties and law when actually the majority want the protocol? Who are they pandering to exactly? Maybe this is a set up to continue with the EU are the bad guys line.

Until Spain ditches all the covid jab requirement rules we won't be going back. Neither of us have had any of the toxic serums and don't intend to. Our Irish passports will have to stay in the drawer though we do miss our three holidays to Madrid and Benidorm.

Seems right

"But another Twitter user accused Spain of being an 'anti-Brexit EU country', urging his followed to avoid going to the European country all together. 'Great. Do NOT go to Spain. Tired of these anti-Brexit EU countries pushing us around,' he said. "

Some of the comments in the article are priceless. 😂😂😂

Unfortunately the uk are now non EU, and will be treated the same as all other non eu countries. Unfortunately we are going to tarred with the same brush as African visitors. The problem is a lot of Africans visit with the intension of staying. So before they arrive, they have to produce return tickets, enough money to visit and pay any medical bills they may incur and they have to produce an address at which they intend to stay, so that address will he visited if they outstay their time.

Also, over here in the canaries, there are alot of properties with UK owners who rent out without paying any rental taxes on them, these new rules will alow the authorities to keep an eye on how many people are in and out of the same property.

Most people who book there holiday through packages such as TUI or Jet 2 will not really be inconvenienced, as some who go all inclusive, won't be expected to bring that much cash.

It’s all this EU is just being vindictive nonsense. If they were being vindictive they’d introduce disembarkation cards for UK passengers like many countries in the world do. All that’s happened is what was always going to happen, why the “we know what we voted for” mob are getting angry about it is flummoxing. Taking back control was always going to be a two way street. There was no shortage of experts pointing this out. If they chose to ignore those experts of their own free will then more fool them. If you took Goves advice on experts then you’re a fucking moron.

Ouch

" The brewery, which is based in Tenterden and whose beers are stocked in pubs across the region, complained last month that international exports had plunged to £2,000 after expecting them to rise to £600,000. "

Return of the Brexit thread…where have you been my dear old friend (I know Tony likes to use the politics thread instead but I won’t ignore you)

Looks like sunaks presenting a new NI deal to DUP. Think we all know how that’s going to go down ! Seen a couple of comments that the DUP just don’t want to return to stormont as the junior partner so NI protocol remains a good excuse not to. Any truth in that from Tony or those closer to NI ?

Who knows what the DUP wants. Globes banned because the earth is flat? Homosexuals stoned to death? All dinosaur fossils ground into dust because the planet is only 4000 years old and dinosaurs are an elaborate hoax? Mandatory burning of fossil fuels because climate change is a hoax? Take your pick.

All I do know is the DUP is going the right way to consign themselves to history. The younger generation are tired of their (and the other unionists for that matter) BS on everything not just brexit and their traditional core voter’s are dying out, literally. I don’t expect them to accept Sunak’s deal either. If they stick to their guns anything less then equivalence to the rest of the UK won’t do it for them. Unless it’s LGBT or women’s rights of course in which case they want equivalence with Saudi Arabia. They’re fucking idiots.

Probably accurate; they were also opposed to the GFA - wankers.

From an outsider's perspective there is just no rationality to anything that the DUP does. Everything is subservient to the loyalty to London. Pathetic people.
I’d be amazed if they ever entered power sharing as the junior partner, all it’ll do is make their inevitable demise come even sooner.

They nailed that on with their support for Brexit and thinking Boris was their mate whose word could be trusted. Problem for them is NI can’t just keep having assembly elections until the DUP are ready to go back into power sharing, at some point NI will have to go back to rule from London which can only hasten their demise and potentially trigger a return to the troubles. Which actually might be their warped thinking anyway. Other issue is for the loyalists community is voting for any of the unionist parties isn’t really going to change that, hence alliance is collecting votes. Most Protestants couldn’t ever bring themselves to voting Sinn Fein although I know some who do. SDLP is looking like a possibility to those who have accepted that the union breaking up is inevitable now and voting for a Republican Party will speed that process up and lessen the pain.

They’d probably prefer direct rule and I doubt they’d be overly concerned about a return to violence.

DUP setting the stage

Hopefully he’s the equivalent of some of the ERG nutters in the Tories. The DUP leader was making more positive noises last week.

Nice to see Johnson sticking his oar in yesterday…they’re trying to clear up one of the turds you left so maybe best to keep it buttoned for now

I think the DUPs problem is if an agreements reached they've lost their excuse not to form a government with Sinn Fein and denying democracy isn't a good look for a party whose first name is democratic!
