It's also interesting that you are never the first onto things that could show SISU in a bad light.
And yet you are like a tramp on chips when it comes to commenting on threads that might possibly show up WASPS and CCC and CT in a bad light.
Why is that? I am not exactly the first person to notice this.

You mean like asking questions to try and dig deeper? To try and find out more about how it could come back around via possible links with other directors he is with etc.

On my phone at the minute so not the easiest to look through companies house stuff, but it does look like a "co incidence" that we seem to be seeing so much of.

The timing is also quite strange of it all. It definitely needs digging deep into.

Isn't there a way on companies house to setup alerts, can it be done for individuals so any changes you get an email? Ie somebody new gets added as a director to venus company

Doesn't Venus also do scg meetings now? Can somebody put him on the spot about that company?

Any chance that Rugby is to become the town of football. Thanks to American investors supporting SISU building a 12k stadium, training facility, academy and housing.
As oppose to buying SISU out?

That would be ironic.

What was the distance limit again from the council house, I wonder how far into rugby that would go.

I found a couple of interesting things at Companies House today:

1. As well as being a director of Otium, Mark Venus is also a director of Dedham Vale Homes Ltd whose business is "Development of building projects". Does this have any connection with the plans to sell off Ryton for housing? I wonder whether MV is really on the Otium board to strengthen the football side or is he there to sell off the club's only remaining asset?

2. The latest set of accounts for SISU Capital in 2015 show turnover of just GBP1.1 million which is almost half the turnover it got in 2014 (2.0 million). Moreover, in 2015 SISU made a loss of 400K. I realize that SISU only manages the investors' funds and does not directly own the club. Nevertheless, it does appear that SISU are struggling financially because their management fees have declined due to their poorly performing investments. Maybe Joy is not as rich as some people on here seem to suggest? And maybe CCFC is a lot more important to SISU's financial performance than some people think?
Never understood this SISU are loaded and Joy is mega rich attitude. SISU had one good year and that was the year before they bought us. Since then there markets have been suppressed.

We have seen first hand they are not the most adaptable of business people. In fact I would suggest they are very flat footed.

Hmmm.

Objectively, the Northampton strategy was actually superbly executed from a financial perspective. That it didn't come off as hoped was always the risk, of course but... it was certainly inventive in the extreme!*

So not sure you can say they're not adaptable. When they're in their comfort zone (finance rather than football) strategies are radical.

*Guess I have to put the caveats for the morons in here that this does not equate to 'I love SISU and all their little helpers'

I think the FL would midly flexible on that distance (if it was not too far). If SISU put forward a plausible arguement for liquidation as an alternative.

"Extreme"/high risk? Seems appropriate for a hedge fund. Negotiating and sticking to contracts, building business partners not so successful. Also Joy's claim to be a real estate expert seems to be lacking. How many years ago was that director appointed with world wide contacts who was going to bring new investors into the club? Can't even remember which one it was or his name, but I do know it never happened and he lasted about 12-18 months.

OK

So the "builder" on that company looks to be Garry Barnard, can't find anything to link him to anything around here. He had a company called Barnard Construction Limited based in Newark - https://anon.click/?http://www.bcltd.uk.com/ - looks to be bespoke one off houses type things.

Margaret Venus (I assume his sister) is down as a "home maker". Isn't that like a house wife?

It looks like it is registered to the address of an accountant, called Anthony Sheridan. It isn't the one who played for us, he is older!

Business setup 26th august last year, he went onto the board on 12th July this year.

Edit: The one in Newark looks to be different, but they are using the ltd company name on the website. He also had an issue with his website redirecting to Japanese Porn.

"Home maker" sounds like property development/refurbishment/interior design. One off projects rather than lets buil a whole estate.

That's what I thought, I originally thought interior designers (get the bloke to whack an extension on, send the women in to put some fancy curtains up) but I googled home maker - http://www.dictionary.com/browse/homemaker
But it is like entrepreneur used to mean business person prepared to take a risk to make money.

These days it often means crook/villain/dishonest person with no morals.

For corrie fans - think of Seppala as Phelan, and Venus as Todd
Fisher is probably Tracey and Mowbray is Norris

You lost me at Corrie. I hate soaps.

I know what you mean. Home maker when I first saw it in the context does look like somebody who would go in and do the finishing touches like putting paintings up, curtains, choosing the kichen. laurence llewelyn bowen type stuff.

Interesting you were on this so quick this morning ;)

Do any of the other people in his company have links? If so to who?

What scale is it going to be? Is it a couple of small time builders he is working with or a bigger scale?
I get up early, Nick.
I can smell the coffee.

So what else do you know?

From looking at it they look quite small time, do you think they will be subbing it out or something? It just seems a bit "big time" for an ex footballer, a builder and a couple of "homemakers".

Japanese porn you say. What's the web address? This could be the most exciting development yet ;)

I think it might be a different one. A company in Newark were using the Limited company name on their website but it seems like different people but using the limited company name on their website. Doing a google showed a bloke with the same surname but different name asking on the wix.com support site saying his site had been hacked. I doubt it would be anything good, that stuff is all weird.

Wheels within wheels ? There's a few builders connected with our club always has been, Derrick Robins was a millionaire builder 60 years ago. Cassidy brothers been actively involved over the years and Our current sponsors the Alsopp brothers are into property sales etc in the Middle East, all city fans.

Cassidys are currently working the shit out of Corley.

Not saying it isn't possible, I was just saying how would Venus pull it off if he was planning to do it. I could understand if it was a Cassidy on the board or something.

I didn't think that the Cassidy's were fans. The shirt sponsorship etc. was all tied in to working on the Ricoh? Certainly a story I was told many years ago anyway.

Probably. Now they've read it on here ;)

Despite all the filibuster SISU haven't exactly shown themselves to be the sharpest tools in the box during their tenure as CCFC owners.
They have demonstrated clearly that they are tools, but haven't shown themselves to even be IN the box let alone be sharp

But just like a house...sell at a profit, pay off the mortgage & pocket the rest. Some might call it asset stripping...but they have promised it will not be sold until an alternative is found. So that's alright then - we know we can accept them at their word

I thought Arvo essentially took over the mortgage and now have a charge over Ryton so if Ryton does get sold Arvo get first (and probably only) dibs?
