Its all about opinions

I dont trust him and think by christmas the tide will turn against him

If it doesnt and everyones still tasting his smeg then so be it

Correct, it's about opinions and while you're entitled to yours, it does not automatically make them the only correct ones. And being vulgar about those who don't see your point of view doesn't make your position any more tenable.

I thought we'd left toxicity behind after SiSu reduced their input (if they still have any at all) but it seems some fans rely on vitriol and negativity to justify themselves sometimes.

I’m not convinced by King - he’s started well in some respects with making the off field stuff more professional. He has however stated he wants the play offs 3/5 years - this won’t happen without investment on the pitch. I’m reserving by judgement until he’s given the tools to Robins so these goals can be achieved

we were burned under SISU - forgive us for being cautious
I don’t live by the notion that King is great because he got SISU out but by his actions and I too am cautious but supportive until I have reason to not to.

Do you not like smeg then?

I don’t have any idea what Overson has posted this in relation to.

Could be wrong but I suspect it's in regards to the box situation. I know a significant chunk of box holders have banded together with a view to openly complain about the price hike so perhaps something related to that.

He should say what it’s in relation to. Just causes people to start speculating and making things up.

He’s been a good friend to the club.

Its a bit shitty, he knows a fair few of the players and if they see him posting cryptic shit about the ownership it has potential to be a little disruptive.

Bare minimum ? Home ground secured, new top class pitch being laid, same at Ryton and refurbishment, new contracts for the management team, nearly 13000 season tickets sold already, corporate boxes sold for proper money, debt free, all since January if that’s the bare minimum i can’t wait until he gets serious and does a proper job.

They are all bare minimum things in reality

Overson been told 'thanks but we don't need your money anymore?'
Paid for a portaloo at Ryton but Doug King personally chucked it in the skip during the redevelopments there, after Viveash had stunk it out before training with the previous night's Vindaloo. Overson wanted his money back but King sprayed shaving foam in his face when he confronted him, so Overson emptied the portaloo all over the new pitch. They're now not talking to each other but the pitch is in the best condition it's ever been in.

I guess I just want to see something positive from him. You can talk about fans doing their bit, but when we’ve had record ticket sales two seasons running I’d argue it’s the club that’s not pulling their weight here. Ultimately no matter how much Doug doesn’t want to lose money, that’s what’s going to happen due to the state of the game at this level. There’s no route to profitability at this level, you get out one way
Never criticise Richard Overson he put good money into the Acadamy possibly kept it afloat as a cat 2.
And with it got a level of access and influence that he no doubt enjoyed.

it was not an anonymous donation. That’s fair enough but let’s not pretend it was a selfless act either.

The other more controversial way to look at it is that these guys & others were arguably fleecing the club by paying a fraction of what they should, and are now throwing a childish hissy fit because they’re no longer getting what they feel entitled to

"I'm asking those people to come wid us"

King meets Nelly

It's interesting in this interview that King doesn't speak as if he believes there is a bigger market for corporate tickets, he just believes those who do use it currently should pay more.

Will everyone on here be happy if only half the boxes are sold? Genuine question
At current prices that would likely net the club more money so yeah. They could then sell the other boxes individually

I don’t see why people are outraged at the price given it’s League average? The timing and communication of it is bad - but the pricing is in line with the league

If the business is more profitable then yeah couldn’t care.
It’s like asking do you care if the ground is half full if we are making more revenue.
Whatever adds to the playing budget I’m happy with.

If anything I’d rather the exec boxes being empty than the seats in the ground, I’d rather the stands look busier that’s visable than boxes that aren’t.

If the football is of a good standard, the fans will come so yeah im not too bothered if only half the boxes are sold

Given the package has changed and there is now a meal included, costs will go up which need scale to meet them, so it's unclear whether it will be net better off.

You are feeling bitter because your own ticket prices went up, or you got moved or whatever it was. Since then you have become obsessed with executive boxes as a way to vent that bitterness.

Before this you wouldn’t have given a toss about boxes but now you are fixated on them.

Anyway- the difference in revenue would be small due to the price increases & extra cost, and we could sell the rest of a game by game basis (results and momentum depending), in which case a lot more money for the club. So all fine.

you can’t work out the increase/ decrease in revenue from hospitality/ corporate until the end of next season after all the games, the number sold now will not give you that answer.

It possibly saved the Acadamy from which we now have Jack Burroughs, Eccles and Howley in the first team squad.

Came across really well I thought. Straight to the point. He wants more revenue to create a bigger and better team. It’s no more complicated than that.
I don’t agree with boxes 9k to 25k in one hit but that’s his attitude and wants the change done now. He ain’t here to waste time…. He wants a success and speaks well and this is how he wants to do it.

Convinced that GIMOC is Dawkins in disguise. Some actual insight, vague transfer rumours, Constantly ranting about Executive boxes despite "not sitting in one myself", only turned on King since box prices were increased. Dawkins tweeted about Hamer contract offer, GIMOC posts about Hamer contract offer.

Agree with the skepticism but its good to have the man making the decisions speaking on it rather than wheeling out Boddy and Fisher to take flak.

Comments on Vik sound standard, expect Vik to go but King letting other know we won't be bullied and allow him to go cheap
