Shilton never played a game for us so doesn't count. I am too young but surely George didnt either?!

No I'm with you. Pearce and Lloyd were also young when they signed. Lloyd I think was a British record fee and it left us broke. David jones was signed for a quarter of a million and was equally useless as if course was Martin Jol.

Haha Love it! Wouldn't see that nowadays though! Imagine seeing Cody McDonald wrecked on the floor of a cab coming back from town!

Both never made 1st team proper Charlie George was brought in Bobby Gould and he scored in a friendly at HR think It was against Japan National side.I remember the chap on the tannoy giving on saying the Japan side after 2 players

If there's been a better player in any position than Roland Nilsson I'd love to have seen him coz I think he was awesome

Hopefully my generation of cov fans can have a wembley day out so jealous of the fans that were around in the 60's and for the cup final

1. reg matthews 4 england cap while at cov in div 3 never on the losing side played against brazil at wembley won 4-2 1956
also was in goal v west germany away watch Reg in action here.some great saves ,england won 3-1.West germany was world champs at the time.
Coventry City even get a mention
