You should be relieved their doing well.

It means they have time to wait. If they were doing badly they would have had to already forget about the city.

I think you're right, it was always going to be a waiting game & ACL are winning it. Just waiting now for the JR appeal to be dismissed once and for all.

The Ricoh the venue, not just the pitch. On a match day the whole venue it is completely taken out.

5 events could potentially earn them the same as a football club paying nothing.

They already have events in the exhibition halls/conference suites' on match days. Cov playing at home doesn't particular change that, and they can always rearrange fixtures. I really don't see how us playing at home will make ACL lose money.

Sounds to me like you're trying to make a case for ccfc not to play at the Ricoh.

Some have suggested it is worth the club coming back to the Ricoh rent free. If ACL are sustainable without them.

I am saying that is an interesting idea. However the financial gains for ACL ( on things such as marketing and publicity, would have to be worth more than the potential lost revenue they may have in any other business on those days.

When the football comes to town it takes over the whole arena.

Not it doesn't, the host plenty of events on match days. The Davis cup being a prime example - I went to the doubles match and then straight into the bowl to watch us play.

Davis cup and Florence and the machine both took place on match days. Many exhibitions do as well.

Why are you lying?

If they are doing well perhaps the council can transfer the loan back to a private company. After all last year according to the council leader they they were "in a right mess" without the restructuring.

Have the accounts been released or something?

Because they are supposed to have the clubs interests at heart and are not a shady, money grabbing Mayfair hedge fund?

I don't care how they are back. Most important thing is that they are.

Lying that is a very strong term?

To accuse me of lying you must know that ACL have no up and coming business opportunities that would have to be scrapped if CCFC return.

Do you?

It seems there are occasions when you can have events in the jaguar arena when CCFC are playing at home.

However you do not know what upcoming events ACL are in negotiation for.

There maybe some events that will be dependant on not having 32k people ( they have to plan for the worse case scenario however unlikely)

My point is the cumulative value of having CCFC back (especially rent free) will need to match or outweigh the cancellation of these events.

I think it's got to the point where the only offer sisu would be interested in is...

ACL... Joy, how much would you like us to pay you to come back to the Ricoh? ...

Isn't the most important thing the sustainable future of our club? Isn't that the purported reason for all this mess?

Events at the Ricoh may bring in money for ACL, with little benefit for the local economy but 15-20k on a regular basis will bring at lot more to the city over a season. Helps the local economy, the club and what about the feel good factor of just having the team back at the Ricoh, would lift a lot of people for a little while!

But that's not a good enough reason for not making the first move. Why not bite the bullet? It's easy to release a press statement saying we're willing to talk, that's not really action is it?

But you can rearrange football fixtures, it happens all the time, so it should never be a problem. If things are already forward planned for 2014 the information can be given to the FL so be fed into the planning process for the next seasons fixtures.

The football club coming back, even rent free, is not going to hit ACLs turnover, other than increasing it through match day fees and F&Bs and car parking.

Well having a CCFC match there would limit the use of things that supporters would normally use. e.g. the Eon Lounge which could otherwise be used for Weddings, Pitch View hotel rooms which have to be vacated for the day etc.

However getting our club back in Coventry should be the target.

i'm sure they want to get as much money for the club as possible when they've finished with it, but be honest. its not their No1 priority is it?

You actually trust Sisu with the Ricoh? Hmm.... If the ground is sold it MUST have conditions attached that the club own the ground and must stay as owners. But, our lovely (being sarcastic) owner won't go for that as there are other motives.

And you would trust Preston Haskell the Billionth with the RICOH? how do we know what his motives are?

Pitch View Rooms are hired out for the day and cost 4 times more than some individual booking it

Rearranging the football fixtures and having that agreed that they will play second fiddle to other ACL more profitable adventures could swing it.

So if one direction can only fit the Ricoh in on a specific date then football match gets moved.

If of course the Ricoh would make more money from one direction for example and others than they would overall by having a rent free CCFC back

Isn't it one of the league rules that the football club has to have first option on all dates? Games get moved for TV and on safety grounds and I think they can be randomly moved with the agreement of both teams but if the Ricoh was unavailable on a date we were scheduled to play and the other team wouldn't agree to move what would happen?

I know the FL don't have a great track record on enforcing the rules but you know this would be the sort of thing they would see as an easy way to throw their weight around.
