i think we can safely say that after yesterdays statement from Ann Lucas the door is open for negotiations on the Ricoh.

yes its clear that CCC are more interested in rent deal then agreeing a sale price but they don't seem to have ruled out the possibility of selling.

however, as Coventry MP Bob Ainsworth pointed out in a radio interview yesterday that despite your rhetoric through the press about only returning with the keys you are yet to make an offer. now i'm no genius but i'm pretty sure if you want to buy property and land, you need to make an offer to start the ball rolling.

so its over to you joy, what are you willing to pay?

I would pay to find out now just exactly how much she offered in the meeting in June/July whenever it was that the council said no to.

Indeed, however the ACL statement a Saturday afterwards said that Joy had wanted the stadium at her price so I assume she named a price. Maybe they haven't revealed it because it was, like OSB58 reckons a tiny amount and people might find it laughable.

Its always been up to Sisu to make a move, they have just stumbled, blamed and mismanaged the club to a point where the seller does not trust the motives.. I would be very wary of a them owning the Ricoh without very strict condition on what can be broke up and sold to make money without the long term future of the club secured long after these owners have pissed off. It is time for all parties to talk without TF in the room to sort what can be done as im sure both parties know what they want and may find somne middle ground. The game of poker is coming to an end as the JR will determine how far both main parties can go with supporting a club or stadium without breaking and giving in or deciding to cut and run...

Size yes, facilities absolutely no way! Below an illustrated comparison, note the extra bits on the Ricoh, which are the hotel & conference centre.
Also note the KPS is in the middle of Leicester with very poor transport links & the Ricoh is quite near the M6.

I am not sure that hedge fund types are in the business of making offers. They will bide their time until the appropriate moment comes along, that being when a company becomes distressed. As many have already said, this will take a long time. All of efforts by all parties are to be applauded though. We have to keep doing what we can (end of sermon)

But will that ever happen, I think not, SISU's only remaining weapon is public opinion and if this drags on for 3 years (as I reckon it will) without them having started their 'new stadium' which way then will the wind be blowing?

These parties have to stop talking through the media and get around a table and talk about what each want from any potential deal. If they do this then all the back bitting and crying will stop and it will be a straight talks about the future for all parties to walk away with something... If we are all honest CCFC comes a second best to all the concerned parties, it's just used to get as much money back as possible, all have put money in and all need money back from an investment that nobody will be happy that they have made... After this is done maybe CCC and Sisu can walk a way knowing Football is not in there interest or there role to perform as both have proved to be very damaging to the club no matter what side you stand on.

You actually trust Sisu with the Ricoh? Hmm.... If the ground is sold it MUST have conditions attached that the club own the ground and must stay as owners. But, our lovely (being sarcastic) owner won't go for that as there are other motives.

No i dont trust Sisu,,, but if they want the Ricoh and they and the CCC get the deal that works then any deal has to have conditions about the club and its connections to any attached asset...

Is it? PWKH has said one radio today that ACL will be getting circa double the income that they had when the club was there paying full rent. They don't need the club and can prosper without so how will it be arranging their own funeral?

Can't see the problem, gives ACL 3 years to plan a proper future for the bowl and CCC get the economic benefits of not losing the club in the interim and CCFC get the increase in income and goodwill with no commitment beyond their already stated plans.

More importantly, such an offer could be seen as goodwill towards sensible negotiations happening.

The bit that bothers me is this £7m valuation that seems to be floating around. If it will cost circa £25-30m to design and build a new 12,500 seat stadium, how in the hell can CBRE value the purpose built 32,000 Ricoh at £7m????? considering all the facilites, or is that for just the bowl and nothing attached like the bistro, casino etc??

Not sure what your point is. They can't rip the Ricoh pitch up, or play rugby or whatever on it for periods close to the game (or arguably, if you're a passing game loving Scotsman, at all during the season). It's not like they have full access the other 342 days a year.

Dons the one stating the pitch could be used for alternative things on match days. I can't see how the pitch can be used 365 days a year anyway. Outdoor concerts will only take place in the summer and rugby could quite easily be played on alternate weeks - look at hull and swanseas ground.

The Ricoh the venue, not just the pitch. On a match day the whole venue it is completely taken out.

5 events could potentially earn them the same as a football club paying nothing.

Some have suggested it is worth the club coming back to the Ricoh rent free. If ACL are sustainable without them.

I am saying that is an interesting idea. However the financial gains for ACL ( on things such as marketing and publicity, would have to be worth more than the potential lost revenue they may have in any other business on those days.

When the football comes to town it takes over the whole arena.
