We have the strongest bench I can remember. It's down to him to work to get onto it.

Still don’t think it needs two CBs on it.

Depth. We need it. One or two injuries and he’s playing.

I’d rather have him on the bench than Brau.

Obviously Spurs would want him to be playing but I'd imagine it's a good experience for him either way, part of a competitive squad under maximum pressure.

I find it mad how just having backup/competition can spur on existing players on to better things. We saw it when Woolf came in Bobby and Kitch licked on. Now they had a wobble Lati was on it. Tats has pushed on in the last few weeks with Esse on his tail. But also that safety net of knowing the season won't hang on a couple of injuries. Rushie and Onyeka staying fit would be huge as they are the ones we can't really back fill to a similar level.

I stand by licked.

I really must re-read what I type before hitting post. Also it's a red flag that my auto correct has ranked Licked over Kicked

Maybe spurs weren’t happy with the style at pompey and would rather him be involved in a first team set up playing proper football in training even if it meant less game time.

Feel a bit sorry for him.

I doubt he's crying himself to sleep and football is a ruthless game, but still, he must be very unhappy with how it's turned out especially if promises of game time were made to him.

Things can change quickly. We could get a few injuries on Wednesday and he'd be back amongst it.

Anyone joining a team top of the league shouldn't really be expecting anything to be guaranteed minutes wise.

I assume for us the main attraction was that he was available early in the window and a cheap deal to do- Probably weren't sure if we'd get Markelo or not.

Who cares? They way Spurs are falling he will get his chance with his actual club in the Championship.

so does anybody know why we signed Minny, and whether he’ll actually get a game for us?

bit of a weird move from his point of view, and spurs letting him go too unless promises were made that haven’t been kept

Maybe the Markelo signing wasn’t a sure thing when we signed Yang? He would have been on the bench a lot more

Looking at some recent spurs decision making it’s not entirely surprising….

A mate of mine knows a former team mate of his.
Said a lot of nice things about him, great human being, but, said he's so lightweight it's unbelievable and he won't make it at championship level.
I think Portsmouth couldn't use him and we took him to have a look at no cost to ourselves and clearly concurred.

But the last bit is just my guess work.

Add to the numbers in January, was always better to reinforce rather than be in a position where we didn’t have cover.

I also guess we might not have thought Markelo would happen in January.

Either way I’m sure Spurs won’t mind having somebody in their camp that has been part of a championship promotion winning team…

I think it's a mix of him not quite being up to the level we thought he was mixed with us then having the opportunity to sign Markelo which we maybe didn't expect to happen.

Also probably a case of it being a position we needed reinforcements in quickly at the start of the window and that one could be completed quickly.
