No I think a lot on here call clubs like Bournemouth tin pot. Don’t think I have

But given a choice you’d want surely a Sunderland than a Wycombe - the main difference this season has been the atmosphere generating partly by big away followings - was there anything more depressing than games against FGR and Bury when two men and a dog turned up?

This maybe true ! but their new owner will pull the money in and watch them go up the table - this is why i would have preferred Wycombe however it is what it is and we will have to suffer them banging on about Jimmy Hill again which has been irrelevant for a number of years

You have a fair point, but I think most people think Wycombe are more likely to be 6 points, but our recent record against Sunderland shows they too could be a 6 points in the forthcoming season

Live football partly is for atmosphere it has to be - if we had Leeds as well as Sunderland it’s a cast iron big intimidating atmosphere

You may as well watch on a laptop if you don’t look forward to that

League 2 was depressing because it was crap all round. In this league we’ll get good home crowds regardless of who we’re playing. What I don’t like is seeing 4-5000 away fans celebrating at our expense.

The Sunderland team that played today would be fighting relegation in the Championship, while the Wycombe side would be near certs to finish rock bottom. Will be interesting to see how much Sunderland spend in the Summer, as they will surely have to do, if they have ideas of finishing mid table or higher.

Small-time attitude imo... Especially considering the mentality and quality of our team nowadays! Nothing better than sitting down a big noisy away end of a club with 10x our budget who were giving it the biggun 2 minutes ago.

If we do one day get back to the Prem I want us to earn it by our team and fanbase outperforming the other big clubs who want to get there. Not by beating clubs that see the championship as the big time.

It's a tricky one; it's fine having 4-5,000 away fans (assuming behaviour is ok) if we win/draw/play ok, but as you say, it's galling if you lose in those circumstances. Financially it's a no brainer, as if it's a Leeds or Sunderland, there will also be a bigger home turnout and probably 6k to 4k higher attendance than versus Wycombe and Burnley respectively. That said the policing bill will probably quadruple for those 2 games,

Edit: the club/police have to resolve some of the flashpoint areas outside the ground; it's not fair on the innocent that get caught up in it, particularly the children that are the future of our fanbase.

Nah the thing that sets football apart is tribalism. One week there’s thousands of west brom Fans giving it large if they score against you and then if you get a last minute winner against Leeds you give it them.

Atmosphere makes football unique

Nah. What I want is half that stand with Cov so the away fans get squished in between.

I guess what I’m saying is I want it packed with more home fans and less away. 2 or 3000 is still a decent number but you don’t give up all the stand in the process. No evidence of course but I reckon it gives the away side a huge boost shooting towards that

Which at Highfield Road was great when they were given half a stand by the side of the pitch. At CBS we give them a whole stand behind the goal. Just not for me

Think last season we scored most of our goals down that end possibly because of singers corner.

Difference being we pretty much rely on large away support. We were the most visited ground in the Championship last year

Just back from London. The players all got off the bus not necessarily celebrating but discussing if they're really a top 10 team in English football history!

Got my pic with Alex Neil and the trophy for my companies PR. Felt weird being a Cov fan. Theyre happy celebrating now to the wee hours.

Should be the same down here then. Or more likely will they choose revenue over safety?

Of course they will, I’d give Sunderland, Leeds or anyone else the same amount of away tickets they give us.

Totally agree but there has to be a line that isn`t crossed when it comes to violence and intimidation especially around your children and the elderly.

They must be a pretty big club to have the equivalent of a CCFC match thread on the CCFC forum.

The strange abuse of a statue by 50yo grown men was a sight to behold and set the scene for some of the wider disorder that took place that day. When we were up there it went off in a few bars and there was the accusations of our fans throwing actual human waste onto children.

These two incidents alone have cemented a rivalry between the fans, regardless of the history.

I am sure it won't be long until there is a thread like this on their fans page too

The only way we'll ever stop that is selling 28k home tickets.
And it's a long time since the mackems celebrated at our expense.
