I'd be looking to get him signed up to a new contract at this point. He's got the quality to play in the PL if/when we go up.

CWR hinted last night the club are trying to get him on a longer contract before it goes to the final year, but I'm not sure if they were just assuming rather than having an actual source

He's top scorer in the league and still being put down and criticised. FFS.
The lazy twat only scored 2 before getting dragged off. 🤣🤣🤣

In all seriousness though it was good to see Simms continue to put in a good shift when he came on for Wright, i think he needed a goal.

could Lampard be working his magic on Simms??? If so it would really give us an edge when games start coming thick and fast over the winter. A motivated and confident Simms would be like a new signing.

If we can get the 23/24 Ellis then we have a cracking Striker on our hands

I really don't want to look back at what I might've posted after the 2nd leg. Might find and delete...
We were all feeling pretty emotional after that match and he was definitely a lightning rod for all of our feelings. I said some things back then that in circumstance were pretty melodramatic :ROFLMAO:

Last night solidified for me that we have a truly top-quality striker on our hands, and whatever work we're doing with him behind the scenes is clearly working wonders. I thought he'd be furious at being taken off whilst on a hat-trick but he was caught on camera laughing with the rest of the players on the bench. If this keeps up he's going to have a phenomenal season.

What, it solidified it by scoring 2 from a yard that were put on a plate by other players but thats totally changed your mind:ROFLMAO:

His general play in the game was poor and it will be what ultimately costs us when we get to the end of the season as his work rate and pressing is lacklustre.

Lampard needs a striker in January.

It wasn’t, he let the defender win the ball unchallenged about 8 times. His all round game wasn’t good last night and the goals mask this.

With Haji this is what your going to get. His goals were created by others last night who’s role in the goals deserve more praise than him.

We need more from him in his general play, his performance in the play offs let us down last year we need more from him. If you can’t see this your deluded.
I think it's you that's deluded

I lurk the political threads and am therefore aware that you're a troll with multiple accounts who is looking for reactions; I will not be engaging with you. Go well (y)

20 goals off Wright, 10 goals off Simms and BTA and 10 goals off Torp & Rudoni and we wont be far off the top 2.

No one is slagging him off, just pointing out he goes missing in the big games and is not as good as people make him out to be. People are forgetting about how shocking he was in the play offs.

He lets us down with his work rate against big teams and in general.

There is room for improvement from him.
He’s the top scorer in the league ffs

his work rate this season has gone up a level

None of our three strikers are scoring at less than a goal every three games and our best is averaging a goal every 85 mins.

What im saying is Wright has let us down in the past when it matters and i dont think that will change because he is still the same player. Not a sniff against Leicester and if we make the play offs again i wouldnt be confident relying on him in a big game. Is that not a fair point to make?

I think dropping a 20 goal striker because he might not perform in a big game is a hell of a gamble tbh. I know it may seem otherwise after Haji and Vik but they don’t actually grow on trees.

In hindsight I think he was still injured and we probably forced him in earlier than we should have.

Hes on it this year and it really is to be expected - big season for him with the World Cup in the US coming up

Who said drop him, I’m just saying in my opinion he won’t be enough to get us over the line because of his failings in big games. He is what he is. People just need to calm down on how good he is.

As brilliant as everything is we are only 8 games in we have only won 1 more game than 8 teams in the league and the same as 3 of them.

He was clearly conserving energy at points, clearly no point in challenging for a ball that he knows he isn’t going to win against Cooper. More often than not we picked up 2nd balls anyway

You forgot to add only 1 team has won more games than us, that's only 1 more and they are the only team above us.

He's scored in big games for us, don't know why you're judging him on 2 games against Sunderland when he wasn't even fully fit.

Wright is the best forward in the league. If he played 46 games he'd score more than Gyokeres in the Championship.

Thats it really
