Why does this forum instantly question a player's attitude when they play poorly or simply lose form ?

Maybe he's been carrying an injury all this time.

I could see why he would still want to play for his country, if so, even if not possibly the wisest move.

Yeah, always. When he's playing well, you don't notice it.

He is our best player on his day and he gets lauded for that.

It's still tough to take his performances in the play offs. He stood out like a sore thumb.

He has a laid back style … evidently he’s super chilled off the pitch too …. I don’t think we should mix up style and commitment.

Why some fans value overt work rate over talent I have no idea. I remember watching Sean Flynn thinking my god I play with more talented players than him but some fans loved his raw energy.

Eccles was decent but you have to put it in context. We had wave after wave of attacks in the second leg, the momentum was with us and Sunderland were holding on.

Its always so much easier for players to look better than they are in cameo appearances (another example when BTA came on as sub against Boro)

Micky Quinn was another, didn't cover much ground, and wasn't the quickest, but was lethal in the penalty box

Just because you get far in the game doesn't mean you cant have spells where you dont put the effort in,(not saying that the case with Wright).
Look at Rashford, England International playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world, absolutely chucked it before his loan move to Villa.

All of our forwards were bang average considering where we actually finished. You just got the feeling that if they were all on their game all season then we would have been flying from the start to the finish. Injuries really affected EMC and Haji to be fair but I still think collectively they let us down

I do sometimes wonder if people are mistaking low confidence as can't be asked. Both him and Simms seem to suffer with low confidence probably a personality trait.

It's easier to come on when the opposition are tiring. However Eccles was brilliant until he got injured, hardly putting a foot wrong. Kept breaking up their play and put that great ball through for Haji who appeared to have lead in his boots. Looked as if he was going to change the outcome of the game which is what you want from a sub.
Bassette has come on numerous times and looked pants as has BTA.

In his first season with us, due to his lifestyle, Cyrille was royally shit. After he found God, he turned his life and his football career around.
Simms albeit at a lower level, looked as if he was coming good in his first season. Last season was a disappointment.

Start your second season on fire. Get injured. Come back and ultimately STILL finish top scorer with 12 in 29 and the 3rd highest PPG after Piroe and Sargent in the league.

Yet continuously get pelters from the fanbase about work rate and his entire career here based off of “yeh but he was shit in that one game where I thought he’d turn up”. All in his unfavoured position aswell playing LW. Sakamoto (who I love) in the same position on the opposite side doesn’t even come close to Haji’s output, but is the fanbases child.

When he is good, he is very, very good at this level.

When he is bad he goes into his shell , loses fight and is a passenger.

Both of the above are true. The question is whether you think the benefit of the first statement outweighs the detriment to the team of the second.

I don't want him gone, he's a big asset, but nor do I ever want to see a performance like the second leg against Sunderland again. It wasn't just poor, it was feeble.

None of it is actually hate, it’s mainly frustration. He has got talent for sure. People will always have comparisons though….and compared to Vik who cost a Mill , his overall effort and attitude hasn't matched up.
Hes still head and shoulders above any of the others though.

For the size of him he's too soft easily brushed off the ball maybe more suited to the premier league than the championship he looked good against utd and wolves he just hasn't enough hunger and aggression for me which was glaringly obvious in both play off games.
