He was awful last night no doubt about it and I'm glad he was called out in the dressing room. This is the one piece of play that really didn't make any sense to me. In a 2 horse race with O'Nein surely he's got to be the winner. I've never bought the idea that a player doesn't try so there must be a big underlying issue with him. Frank obviously loves him, the fans love him (until recently) so where has it all gone wrong. Maybe it's just the end of the road here and it's time to say goodbye. At his best somebody will take the risk on him or maybe he moves back overseas. It just doesn't add up and whatever the problem, it's such a shame
I don't think Frank does love him. He obviously prefers EMC on the left and i'm pretty sure he just sees Wright as the least shit option in the centre.

Nope, hes been fine, its purely a case of not mentally or physically being up for it enough

Hence why some words were exchanged last night

Im not talking a punch up and fists thrown, but he was told by a few that his performances when everyone else has worked their arse off are not acceptable at this club

Could be nail in the coffin, could make him sort his shit out
There was a rumour his missus isn't happy living here. No excuse, but perhaps he's getting earache over it

If he's not been carrying a knock, then I'd hazard a guess he's already had a whisper in his ear from his agent about a transfer.

What might help his game is if he stops playing in roller skates... :)

I hate it when everyone gets down on a player (oo-err missus), because I think then all you notice is the negative stuff and you miss the positive stuff. In fairness wasn't it his challenge in the middle of the goal that led to the ball dropping to EMC?

Other than that though, I'm struggling to remember him doing anything particularly useful.

And I'm sure I saw on more than one occasion that he simply backed out of attempting to win headers from long balls, and just left the centre half to it.

Now I know it's not really his game, and I know the odds are he wouldn't beat Ballard most times, but I really, really didn't like the not trying. Tats is half the size, and backs out of nothing - maybe that's the point that was being made in the changing rooms afterwards.

I hope for us, and him, he learns something from it, and comes back a better player next season.

Evidently one or 2 told him what they thought of his recent performances post game last night

Good

Probably mentioned it while complaining the sandwich he brought them after they fucked his missus was too dry and he was busy apologising.

don't you then risk the club potentially signing you watching your games and changing their mind?
I wouldn't be surprised if that sort of thing is quite common. Vik didn't pull up any trees in our 3 playoff games and we now know Sporting were in advanced negotiations with his agent prior to that.

If we sell him and have money to play around with I’d go after Mathias Kvistgaarden of Brondby in the Danish league can play ST, LW and CAM.
He’s a lot shorter than Wright but he’s quicker and got a very good goalscoring ratio, I’d probably play him on the left and sign a big target man through the middle

edit : here’s a video of him

Not sure that will help anything tbh he doesn’t strike me as the type of guy that would react well to a bollocking

I'm glad to hear we've got people in that dressing room setting standards and telling their team mates when they've not met them tbh. Not disagreeing with your point, but if he can't handle being called on it by his team mates, you could argue that makes a case for moving him on. Need stronger characters than that to compete consistently in this league nevermind the league above.

12 goals in 29 games, he’s missed 17 games,he’d of got at least 7 more and finishes the season as joint top scorer. don’t get the rush to want him gone ? And he’s probably played most of those games on the left, first choice no9 next season

because people are upset and lashing out

He has for large periods been our best attacker in multiple seasons.

He looks way better on the left normally in my opinion.
He’s only played there when we’ve had no option, front 3 of EMC wright and sakamoto isn’t bad, if they all stay fit. he took Ballard out the game for our goal last night, nobody’s mentioned that, i‘d be gutted if we sold him,

I think he played like an absolute donkey the last few games but he did when he first arrived so I wouldn't write him off so I'm not saying sell. Our style of play seems to give quick players more space on the wing so I'm not sure moving him central helps him.

Don’t care how he plays, 12 goals in 29 games, he’d of finished top scorer in the league without the injury,

Are you his mum or something? Even if he isn't scoring he needs to bring something to the game and he didn't, last night especially. He needs to find a way to be consistent, I appreciate at that point he will get poached by someone else but at least we will have the cash.

I think whoever plays up front in his system generally looks shit.

It's up to Lampard to either tweak the system to involve the CF more or to find a striker that fits.

No,Just know a bit more about football than you do, you want to get rid of the player who prob would have finshed on 20 goals and scored 19 last season, that’s pretty consistent,

FFS mate have a word with yourself I even said in my response I wasn't saying get rid of him which you have chosen to ignore. And you obviously don't know more about football as even when a player isn't scoring they need to create, hold the ball up to take pressure off or defend well. Any of the above in a game helps the team and would be taken in to account. Him scoring 20 goals a season is great but he didn't this season, I also take how injury prone a player is in to account cause if they are sat on the treatment table they aren't adding to the team. I'd give wright another season unless we get a really good offer as every signing is a risk but he needs to do better next season as our main striker.

He’s paid to score goals, which he does, you make it sound like you‘d rather him running around more and getting assists, give him the ball to his feet and he’ll score goals, we’re slinging hopeless balls into the box hoping he’ll get on the end of one, the lads quality,
