When he scored his hatrick against Sunderland last season I don't think he scored again. I'm sure that won't happen this time.

Haji does need to kick on now and get himself consistently scoring the goals to get us over the line, they do usually seem to come in a glut for him - IE when he scored his hattrick against Sunderland last season and then did not score for the rest of the season

On his day he is unplayable and one of if not the best in the division

He scored against Burnley and Plymouth after the Sunderland match

His cold patch has come in a run of matches where we were tactically awful. Arriving into the box with a ball into feet, or spinning a centre back so we get him through on goal is how to get the best of him. We should not be using him as a target man, or lumping aerial crosses into the box from out wide. We have to find a way to get the best out of him against teams who will sit deep and not give him the space in behind.

Simms and Haji have had their fair share of criticism but both have been very good signings.

The reality is Wright is excellent at this level. If you expect your striker not to have lean patches, to rarely miss and to be able to hold the ball up I’m afraid your looking for someone who won’t be operating in the championship.

If I remember correctly the ref put him off by hurrying him up.

Haji likes to take his time with pens which I think coaches tell them to do now and the ref was going to blow to hurry him up and it caught his eye and put him off.

Even when he’s bang out of form I’d still trust him to take a pen.

Anyone see the Rochdale one?
As the guy runs up the ref blows the whistle so he stops
The keeper then comes to the spot and picks the ball up and ref says play on
Have to say I think the ref messed up

McSheffrey scored 72. Surely the official club account should get stuff like this right. They need to employ me as 'Statistical Quality Control Lead '

He didn’t play on he awarded them a feee kick for time wasting

Why not just stop the clock when a penalty is awarded, how much of the time is wasted by the team trying to put the taker off or roughing up the spot.

To the defending team?
As the ball was out of play there’s no opportunity to award any kind of free kick. The ball wasn’t in play

Either way, the point stands that he's only missed a single pen in his time here and it's not one I think really counts as a proper miss. The ones he took at Wembley were top drawer, and under huge pressure.

The free kick wasn't for time wasting it was for feinting to take the penalty.

Players are not allowed to stop completely and cannot feint after the run-up has been completed. If no goal is scored, the player should receive a yellow card and the opposition given an indirect free-kick.

The ref messed up by not booking the player.

I've watched the video, the ref doesn't blow his whistle again. The player claimed he heard the ref shout something but it doesn't look like he said anything either.

I’d say he’s an unorthodox big forward with good technique and really quick so looks to get in behind and play off the shoulder of players using his frame to roll off smaller players, so like a hybrid of the big man little man

We should never have dropped Simms when he was on a great run of form. We should have stuck with him and let Haji make a statement from the bench. It was far too easy for him to walk back in and far too easy to keep his place. We could have sold him and bought Kone for half of the money at the start of the season and we would have a consistent battler and better finisher.
