Maybe he's been carrying an injury all this time. Why does this forum instantly question a player's attitude when they play poorly or simply lose form ?
Wouldn't disagree with any of thatYeah, always. When he's playing well, you don't notice it.
He is our best player on his day and he gets lauded for that.
It's still tough to take his performances in the play offs. He stood out like a sore thumb.
I thought it was noticeable that Eccles was more box to box under Lampard. We just don't have the money for big changes and even if we did we don't want to sacrifice the season to rebuilding again.
Haji Wright has scored more goals for us than Stern John did, and in fewer games. Some strikers get away with not covering many miles or grafting but can still come up with the goals. Wright is not one of those players. Only one I can think of at the moment is Stern John.

He has a laid back style … evidently he’s super chilled off the pitch too …. I don’t think we should mix up style and commitment. Not since he’s looked like he can’t be arsed, much is the point
Don't you think it's relevant to a Sky Blues forum that he appears to have put in a performance that echos those from the play off?
I appreciate ladt night was more of a cameo but it’s still a concern for me.

We’ll be having Simms and Cyrille Regis comparisons again soon!Haji Wright compared to Stern John. We need a transfer.
give it a restBecause they are saying exactly the same things many of our fans are saying.
His body language was difficult to watch again last night.
Eccles was decent but you have to put it in context. We had wave after wave of attacks in the second leg, the momentum was with us and Sunderland were holding on.I thought it was noticeable that Eccles was more box to box under Lampard.
He was excellent in the 2nd leg when he came on , hopefully he stays and can continue to improve his attacking intent
Needs an "n" and a "t" key.
fuck yountNeeds an "n" and a "t" key.
Didn't know you were a doctor
Micky Quinn was another, didn't cover much ground, and wasn't the quickest, but was lethal in the penalty boxSome strikers get away with not covering many miles or grafting but can still come up with the goals. Wright is not one of those players. Only one I can think of at the moment is Stern John.
Shouldn’t even be a debate on Wright. By far and away our best forward. You don’t tend to get far in the game if you can’t be arsed. It’s a myth
It's easier to come on when the opposition are tiring. However Eccles was brilliant until he got injured, hardly putting a foot wrong. Kept breaking up their play and put that great ball through for Haji who appeared to have lead in his boots. Looked as if he was going to change the outcome of the game which is what you want from a sub.Eccles was decent but you have to put it in context. Its always so much easier for players to look better than they are in cameo appearances (another example when BTA came on as sub against Boro)
Cyrille Regis at West Brom was arguably the best centre forward in the country. He went off the rails and that is why we got him. We’ll be having Simms and Cyrille Regis comparisons again soon!

In his first season with us, due to his lifestyle, Cyrille was royally shit. After he found God, he turned his life and his football career around.
Simms albeit at a lower level, looked as if he was coming good in his first season. Last season was a disappointment.
Finding god was after that. It was after Laurie Cunningham died, and did spark an up-turn in form (though not to the same degree as following his first season).Found God? Or was asked by Sillett how he'd like us to use him and he said play the ball into my feet, Sillett duly obliged.
Regis found God after that.
When he is good, he is very, very good at this level. The Haji hate on here, Twitter and Facebook is hilarious. Feel sorry for the guy. Imagine uprooting your family, turning up at a club off the back of a World Cup, being top scorer in your first season in English football, scoring a huge goal with a great finish to send us to Wembley Semi, to then score a monumentally high pressure penalty in the Semi in front of millions. Start your second season on fire. Get injured. Come back and ultimately STILL finish top scorer with 12 in 29 and the 3rd highest PPG after Piroe and Sargent in the league.
Yet continuously get pelters from the fanbase about work rate and his entire career here based off of “yeh but he was shit in that one game where I thought he’d turn up”. All in his unfavoured position aswell playing LW. Sakamoto (who I love) in the same position on the opposite side doesn’t even come close to Haji’s output, but is the fanbases child.
It really is embarrassing on all platforms. The guy is the most 2 footed natural finisher we have had for many years.
Getting a kick-in by a head Cov doorman changed him a little tooFinding god was after that. It was after Laurie Cunningham died, and did spark an up-turn in form (though not to the same degree as following his first season).
I definitely remember chants of 'Hallelujah, Cyrille Regis, Cyrille Regis!', and, 'And now you're going to believe us, Cyrille's born again!'
None of it is actually hate, it’s mainly frustration. He has got talent for sure. People will always have comparisons though….and compared to Vik who cost a Mill , his overall effort and attitude hasn't matched up.The Haji hate on here, Twitter and Facebook is hilarious.
