£105,000 and a 4th round tie at stake. It’s no friendly at all, ridiculous suggestion.

Add to the fact we've got 4500 rowdy Wrexham fans coming.

It's hardly like we are playing Arlesly Town again.

This is FA Cup 4th roud, it isn't a friendly at all. By the way I'm not telling you or anyone else that they 'should' attend this or any other game, that's up to the indiviual. I just absolutely dispute that this is a friendly, glorified or otherwise. There is a big prize for the winner

Agree except it's the third round.

That's without factoring in the food and beer sales, 12,000 ticket sales, TV money being on S4C etc

Are you suggesting we shouldn't play it?

Surely we are better off with this money and potential future ties than without? If we lose we lose even more money.

The revenue from the game will through the turnstyles will be what about £50,000? that and the TV fee will barely cover the cost to put the game on

Im not clear: are you arguing that more people should go to make it financially viable or that we should refuse to play it?

My nephew purchased 3 adult tkts online the other day but my boy (u13) wants to go now.
Can't buy a child tkt online without an adult tkt.
What chance do you think of capitalising on the £2 offer on matchday if we present the e-ticket as proof of adult purchase on the gate or tkt office?
Have emailed and rang ticket office but surprise surprise - No reply.

Give the ticket office a call or nip up there. Hopefully they can sort for you.

Let's be crystal clear here. If we do lose, it'll be the fault of those who don't attend.

INTERVIEW: Mark Robins looks ahead to Wrexham and talks transfer window and injuries

Sky Blues boss Mark Robins says he will pick the strongest team he possible can for Saturday’s FA Cup clash with non-league side Wrexham.

The lead quote there makes it sound like it'll be a full strength first team...

“I’ll pick the strongest team I can pick tomorrow, bearing in mind the circumstances that we are in at the moment.

But reading on it sounds to me like it'll be a very mixed team

“We have people carrying knocks, some carry illness, so I will have to go with the players who are available whilst also looking at how we can best utilise the players who have played a lot of minutes recently.

“We want to go into this game with a team that is performing, and we need to balance that out with what comes next, as we need everyone ready and fit for games against Burnley and Norwich.

“I have to balance that, and you will see that in the team that starts tomorrow. Hopefully, we can gel and play as well as we possibly can do.

should easily beat a non league team

Not really it will be a very challenging game. FA Cup lower league underdogs with point to prove. Big following, on a long unbeaten run, loaads of ex league players with lots of experience.... whoever Robins picks they will have to be at it from the start deffo not easy !

We should still beat them

Players involved in a championship teams 1st team squad should beat a non league team at home.

With that attitude it was hardly worth winning this tin pot competition in the first place

The food and drink income will be the big one. Big away followings at the Ricoh drink loads. 4500 away fans with nowhere to go before the match. Most will be in the concourse by 4.

Then it was entirely different - the competition offered a European competition (well not for us as it happened) was a major event on the sports calendar

It’s been hugely diminished over the years

I'd won the spot the difference competition in a previous programme and my prize was 2 tickets to the Bolton game and a signed ball, which I was presented with on the pitch before the game.

I remember our tickets were on the right hand side of a sparse main stand near the Bolton fans, that it was indeed freezing and that a few weeks later Cov sent a letter apologising that they'd lost the photo they took of me on the pitch I still have the signed ball

That's why I'm thinking it won't be much change to the usually match day squad. We simply havent got the players. So I think we'll see the majority of the normal squad but the bench warmers will get the starts, with the main men on the bench.

The bench for Bristol was:

Dabo
Sheaf
Tavares
Moore
Burroughs
Kelly
Howley

I reckon they'll all start barring Sheaf maybe. It'll be something like this (with maybe Howley or Sheaf) in the back 3:

WIth the big guns on the bench if required.

Yes, Man U devalued it when they decided to pull out to take part in a competition on the other side of the world. Also it was the only live domestic game on TV. However ,we're a win away from a possible top prem side at home which we would most certainly sell out

I think he'll play Palmer instead of Allen to get him more match fitness.
I'd also swap Howley for Sheaf. They have a fairly decent midfield, Anthony Forde played for Rotherham in the Championship and Elliott Lee was at Luton.

I'd rather both those suggestions, but I think Howley will get a start somewhere.

Even if it does cost more to play the game we will surely minimise those losses by winning, while giving us the opportunity to make money further down the line in the competition?

As regards to the point about not being arsed about the game, I'm interested to know what you and others expressing that view will do instead while the game is on? I find if I can't watch the team play my mind can normally think of little else when the game is being played than wondering how we are getting on. I suspect many stating they have no interest in the game will actually spend it watching the game on the TV stream and commenting on the match thread on here
