Woolfie had a great opportunity to make the shirt his own tonight. Thomas is normally our all action CB and with the direct football Wrexham play he’ll need to perform that role well.

Dasilva obviously left out with an eye on the next couple of games and with Wrexham’s tactics in mind. I bet Parkinson is shitting it now as he’s trained them all week to go long over the short guy.

Our attack should have way too much for their defence so if our backline can do a decent job we win.

Very important point on Grimes. His durability is elite, he’s missed about 10 to 15 league games since our league 2 days. I’m just going off appearances so there are games he may have just been rested rather than injured.

With Sheaf, I worry we ran him into the ground because he basically played all the minutes he was available. Given that Eccles has had a run of injuries, I hope he hasn’t been ran into the ground himself.

My main concerns are (a) the reduced attacking strength of our wing-backs (although KKH isn't bad) and (b) our midfield. Not having MVE's long throws is also a loss.

If we play as we can then we should win, the worrying word being "should". It could just be one of those games where we are the better team but don't get our just desserts. It happens in sport and it will happen to us several times over the season. Equally there will be games when we are poor and get more than we deserve.

I'm genuinely mystified by some people's reaction.
Clearly not our strongest starting 11 but that's a very good side with options from the bench.
And 2 of the changes enforced anyway
No one has been overly critical, just people discussing the team selection. Some are more concerned than others but no one is having a meltdown

My worry is the middle

Lewis O'brien and Ben Sheaf will take the piss out of Jamie Allen. Lot resting on Grimes shoulders this eve
nah, all they will be doing is either hoofing it long or trying to pick up 2nd balls around the area

wrexham aren't going to be doing much playing through the middle

the performative nonsense we get every match day

as you said it is a very good team and should be more than strong enough

the players who aren't regular starters should be well up for it. top of the league and a chance to prove yourself on tv against the Hollywood superstars.
