I am right, I don't know what you've been watching but his fitness clearly isn't up to scratch.

He looks overweight in the 2nd picture you've posted!

It's a shame because he still makes things happen with his ability.

Player of the league last season, most assists this season. Did well in his first taste of the prem and still only 28.

I don’t buy this about his fitness either. Watch a game and he’s always exactly where you’d want him to be. Work rate is no issue at all.

No question on his ability it’s more a case of whether he fits in the system.

He shouldn't have won it last year - James Trafford or Maxime Esteve were robbed, but it is unfashionable to give an award like that to a defensive player

Depends on the price really.

He'll be in the last year of his contract. If we could pull off a sneaky £5-6m deal I'd be all over it. Not going to get anyone better for that kind of price.

It's not going to happen, but, Sheffield United still owe us money from when they signed him.

So the only way I would have him back is to say to Sheffield, just call it quits.

You just know all the people talking about kebabs and mocking his weight would do a 180 the second he signed. It’s more than fickleness, it’s almost immaturity to pretend a player is crap / fat just because they no longer play for us. Playground stuff.

You're talking crap.
He fitness isn't at a level it should be, it's there for anyone to see.

If someone started a thread about re-signing O'Hare, whatever else was said, no-one would mention his fitness. Because its not an issue

You don't know that there wasn't interest at below the release clause value. He was pretty good in a shite team that year. He's got the ability to make moments happen out of very little which is very useful when you are feeding off scraps.

We aren't going to attract high grade Prem quality, everyone we sign will have a question mark above them for one reason or another, fitness, not playing at that level etc.

I'd take him as he'll settle well on the area and I'd back Frank and the team to make him take his career more seriously.

If we were in the prem and we needed a player on from 70ish minutes to rescue a point or go for all 3 i would want him for that. there aren't many who are as good as whipping in a top class corner or finding top bins with a free kick or slicing a defence with a well timed through ball. he has shown he is capable of big moments in not just the championship but the premier league as well. he has the talent to come off the bench and deliver rather than needing to warm into the game. ofc i would prefer someone who could do all that and be in the starting 11 each match but who would they be and could we realistically get them?

the fact there wasn’t at the price shows you all you need to know. If he hadn’t played for us no one would even mention him - as they don’t anywhere else

It’s just his body type mate. He’s still all over the park and never out of position.

Anyway, it’s a bit ridiculous to be arguing over a Sheffield United player that isn’t even credibly linked with us but if he was even slightly unfit he wouldn’t be able to play 90 minutes in midfield in the championship like he did less than a week ago.

I don’t think people that haven’t played to a high standard realise the fitness needed to do that.

My comments are nothing to do with his body type. Although I still maintain he's overweight.

I've watched him, and his fitness isn't what it should be. I've seen him booked on more than one occasion for being too slow in to a tackle and catching a player.
I've watched him struggle to press at times in games.

And hopefully we won't be in the Championship next year andI have big doubts about the speed and fitness levels of some of our current players let alone Hamer

We need a set piece taker but I wouldn’t have him at DM and I think we can do better LW so as much as I love him probably not at this point. Louza is younger for the DM role, I’d want more athleticism on the wing.

See I’d have him as an advanced midfielder in a 3.

Speaking of the championship player of the season, if we win the league do we have anyone in the running? I’d say Rushworth has been our best player but I can’t see them giving it to a GK. Probably be Hackney.

Without doubt, he's a fantastic player, not someone I would break the bank for as he's coming up to 30 but if he's available for 5 mill, 25k a week absolutely I would get it done.

Rushworth has to be in with a shout hasn’t he. I think the chance of us signing him is so slim anyway but if he won that it would probably make it even harder.

This is exactly why I wouldn’t touch him. He’s coming up to 30 and is not looking after himself. It’s highly likely that this means his career at the higher levels will be cut short. It’s not a guarantee of course, but more likely.

Midfield 3 of Onyeka screening the back 4 and Rudi & Gus as dual 8s could be fun.

Sign Esse permanently and see if we can tempt Taarabt for a season in the prem and go pure flair squad

we’d have more roulettes and rabona’s than goals scored but it’d be fun to watch

Different profiles. Hamer is/was a bit more tenacious and could help stodge up the midfield in tougher games. Rudoni more of a 10. So yes, in a roundabout way, an Eccles upgrade.

Good use of ‘stodge’ I’d like to think he’d come to us leaner than he is. Someone needs to get into his head and tell him he could have a longer career if he looks after himself.
