Worst Start Ever In Championship (5 Viewers)

We have had a succession of dire managers, dire players etc but this is the worst start ever for the Sky Blues since we were relegated. I know its not really AT's fault as he is trying to do the job in a financial strait jacket but those people who say this is a good side, best side etc are totally deluded. Whilst there may be potential at this present time the side and the squad simply are not good enough. I know its early in the season still and too early for slitting wrists but unless things improve drastically and quickly we are in big trouble.
Just for the statos :
After 7 games:
2001/2 10 pts
2002/3 11 pts
2003/4 8 pts
2004/5 10 pts
2005/6 7 pts
2006/7 10 pts
2007/8 11 pts
2008/9 11 pts
2009/10 11pts
2010/11 11 pts
2011/12 5 pts

my mates a Tamworth fan..

At the start of the season he had a bet on Tamworth to go up and us to go down, just to annoy me..

He is sitting prety at the moment, joking there will only be one league between us next season..

How is that for a REALITY bite !

Interesting note from that list. in 2005/06 we had only 7 points after this many games, yet finished that season in our best league position in a long time in 8th. A good omen, or clutching at straws.....you decide!?

Too early to tell, in general we've started the last few seasons picking up points while playing shit. With the exception of last night I didn't think we had been playing too badly. But there really was some shocking defending in the first 20 minutes last night.

It's how we finish what counts and guess what? We're nowhere near finished, so no need for mass hysteria.

Its all quite simple really.............a couple of good loan signings to replace the ineffective Bell and Baker and we could start to compete, if we don't then the paper thin and inexperienced nature of our squad means we will be fighting against relegation. I expected that anyway and I look forward to a possible scenario where our esteemed owners do feck off at the end of the season as long as we have a decent replacement with more of a viable long term plan with the clubs future as number one priority.

But the start is the foundation of a season. Losing mentality is hard to get out of. Normally teams who are top or bottom at Christmas usually are the champions and relegation teams come May

It's to be expected with the dreadful squad we have. I predicted relegation at the start of the season and unfornately little on the pitch has convinced me differently.:(

OK, if you want it that way then similarly with the great starts we've had for the last few seasons then we should have pushed onto the play-offs and promotions. After all the winning mentality should have been easy to maintain.

"Usually".

Torchy – take last season for instance. Started well, got to Christmas and lost players through suspension and injury, Lost every game during Christmas period and was never the same team after that.

Look at the positives. We just need to cut out the missed chances, defensive errors, start creating more, increase the depth of the squad, get some experience and we will be fine. Last night could easily have gone the other way if we had conceeded 3 less and scored 1....

cheers for the pills Clive
