Beating Torquay 1-0 in the FAC in 2009 (or possibly 08, I'm getting old). They (then a non-league side and us in the Championship) battered us for 90 mins and we won with an Elliott Ward goal late on. We were absolutely shocking.

We were shockingly bad that day but in fairness to Torquay they played very well and it was a "proper" cup tie. Plus, having a few beers before the match in the boozer looking out over the sea was a nice touch.

Plus I was on Match of the Day when we scored.

Villa. 2-0 up. Merson and Juan Pablo fucking Angel.

We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when.

Nothing further to add.

This one for me. So miserable and completely exposed to the conditions, we left after the third.

Tranmere 5 Cov 0 in the League Cup in about 96 - Pornstar Rafaelo Nuzzo plays his one and only game for the club. Or Sheffield Utd away in the FA Cup Replay with the Moldovan sitter right in front of us. We would have beat Newcastle in the Semi that year and gone on to Wembley. How times have changed.

getting beat by Blackpool in the league cup when Carl Lightbourne had a laser pen shone in his eye, absolutely pissing it down and we were appalling. Sheff Utd in the cup losing on pens was heartbreaking too

I was at the Blackpool game as well, ended up breaking up a scuffle on the terrace between an old man and a young woman.

The wimbledon game We won with an own goal. Half of the kop cleared off with half hr to go.
That was certainly the wettest I've ever been at the footy.

April 2007, lost 4-0 to Preston at home. 4-0 down before the hour, remains the only game I have ever left early.

Also, Notts Forest away last season in the Championship. We'd beaten Leeds through a McSheffrey last minute pen midweek, went up there with optimism and turned in one of the worst performances I've seen from a City side (so much so that even fat Freddy Eastwood got a run out at the end)

Sutton utd in the cup,I was in the home end and it kicked off with some Chelsea fans!!!
Northampton in the cup a couple of years later at their cricket/football ground and got drenched it didnt stop raining all day and some trouble in the town centre walking back to the train station.
Lots more but to many to mention.
also Middlesboro away in the 90's at the riverside 4-0 i think Ravenelli and juninho tore us apart !!!

What a night. Have never been so drenched watching a game of football. Rain falling horizontally into our faces on the open terrace - could hardly see the game. Half of the City fans were in the dry on the adjacent terrace and all through the game fans from the open section were running across the corner of the pitch to get in the dry bit. Was far more entertaining than the game.

there have been a few, the one on Bonfire nignt vs Bradford was bad, but I also recall playing a game in the cup at Filbert street, but I think it was against Luton as we were standing in the Leicester Home end. Game was so bad , tried to leave to go back to the Pub but the Police would not let us out until there was too many wanting to leave!

One that sticks in my mind is the game V Charlton, where we deserved to go down we were that bad. And was it not for (I think) Carlo Nash making a save against Leicester, we would have been down!

For a team fighting for survival, they were far too relaxed and we were absolutely mauled!

So many contenders:

1. 1-4 at home to Palace under Adams (may have been 4-2). Luke Steele I think was in goal and had a nightmare along with his defence.

2. 0-2 away at Leicester under Dowie. The week after the 4-1 win at Blackburn and the performance was rank awful-Ben Turner passed it straight to Barry Hayles who was one on one.

3. 1-3 at Bristol under Thorn. Luckily got in front with an own goal but the second half surrender, fatigue or not, was horrible to watch.

4. 0-2 at Morecambe under Boothroyd. Having missed the coach up because a 'friend' never showed up I caught a last minute train up to watch a team consisting of Michael McIndoe in centre midfield get rolled over. To add insult to injury the club had given away my seat on the coach and only reluctantly gave it back. Including my taxi back from the Ricoh the game cost £120.

5. 0-4 v Southampton under Thorn. Whilst the Saints fans were superb to us after the game the match itself was a horror show for the youngsters chucked in to make up the numbers who were destroyed by a team and club destined for far greater things. A very sobering game for any City fan.

JPT vs Crewe has to be up there for me. A night filled with so much hope and expectation. Seeing the Ricoh well and truly full was really special. It was our chance to finally have some success after years of turmoil and we just could not get a goal. Crewe were poor yet left with the tie all but won. That was the night I thought CCFC had hit the bottom. How wrong I turned out to be.

Me too, I was that soaked I had to drive home in my boxers, then i was running low on petrol on the way home, so had to pull in near Birmingham to get fuel, filled up and then realised I had lost my wallet...so had to fill in a form at the petrol station to allow me to leave and return the next day to pay...bad day all round.

Many candidates here. West from 0-5, the to palace hammering 2-4 @ the ricoh, but one really sticks out in my mind was a 0-0 v Bradford City at HR one firework night (year?) it was terrible

Home league game against Wimbledon, must have been late 80s or early 90s. Was freezing and chucking it down, at one point it was hailing so hard you could even watch the game. Think it was a late own goal that lost us the game.

Was this in late 87? We drew 3-3. I remember that was against wimbledon and I was a very soggy 9 year old stood at the front of the kop
