It's asymmetric multiculturalism. We rightly have to tolerate their cultural norms and practices in their countries but that same thing isn't afforded to us. It's pretty indicative of the West at present.LGBT fans were told not to be too ‘public’ about their sexuality in Qatar, we were all told it’s their ‘custom’ and to respect it. Well now it’s in the US, pro LGBT views are the ‘custom’ in this particular part of it so if teams don’t like it…they can always withdraw.
No argument there, never wanted it in Qatar in the first place. It's asymmetric multiculturalism. We rightly have to tolerate their cultural norms and practices in their countries but that same thing isn't afforded to us. It's pretty indicative of the West at present.
FIFA should double down and if the teams want to postpone the match, their loss.
We’ll get one in Saudi too in 2034… great. No argument there, never wanted it in Qatar in the first place.
A whole new meaning to 'mind your head!' on the way into the ground. We’ll get one in Saudi too in 2034… great.
It’s not a FIFA initiative, and FIFA clearly won’t be promoting any diversity-related events out of political correctness with the US government, which also happens to be openly hostile towards some LGBT people.FIFA should double down and if the teams want to postpone the match, their loss.
Yea but those hotels are just trying to maximise profits , so people can watch the greatest show on earth , if people pay it the prices are right
$1800 for a Hampton Inn in New Jersey, what a time to be alive
Final is having a Superbowl style halftime show. Slight problem here is that to facilitate that the Superbowl has a 30 minute break.
Not sure players will be too happy with an extended halftime for this nonsense.
Praise hostels and airbnb.Yea but those hotels are just trying to maximise profits , so people can watch the greatest show on earth , if people pay it the prices are right
Optimistically, the prices will drop because fans won’t pay it. FIFA tried this stunt at the Club World Cup and prices hit a floor.
I looked at a couple of options and thoughtWas looking to do 4 games, will scale that back now to 2 or 3 if we go…..
I looked at a couple of options and thought
I’ve got a flight booked to NY now just in case we get to the final. I’d consider the prices for a final ticket just to be there.
This will backfire on FIFA, the teams with the biggest followings in Europe and South America will be priced out. The costs were racking up significantly when just considering the logistics, accommodation and just being in the US… £5k in ticket prices is just too much and in my network of ETSC members, that’s a consensus view too.
@CJ_covblaze Will you be going out to this one?
In a World Cup first looks like they will be charging for the official fan zones. FIFA are selling early bird tickets for $12.50 per session which implies that price will rise. Interestingly for this blaming FIFA the fan zones at Canadian venues will be free.
I'm not sure what is worse, the high ticket prices & charging for fan zones or the US fans that can't grasp the idea that cheaper tickets should be an option. They seem to think that the higher the prices the better.
Don't let Doug see this. He'll start charging instead of putting the musicians on for free.To be fair, this looks a little bit like sensationalism. It appears that only the "Fan Festival" venues will be ticketed. It has music acts and is on a much large scale than regular fan parks.
25th to the 28th staying in Manhattan, price of hotel has more than doubled since I booked it.Got 4 nights booked in New York, well Bayonne/Jersey City, 24th-28th June. And enteres Ballot for England vs Panama.
Anyone else going that time?

Sound. I’ll pm you.Be good to hear where you plan to go etc.
Sound. I’ll pm you.
I’ve only got a one way flight at the minute, obviously price was a factor and I had air miles to use. Also, I can see what the first 2 games results bring, so I can decide whether to
Head down to Atlanta for the last 32 if we win the group, or just do something else.
I tell you what, that Friday night before the England game in New York will be unreal ⚽️
I saw that Aer Lingus have pulled a lot of flights - Hope you are sorted mateNervously waiting for the outcome of the Aer Lingus withdrawal from Manchester talks. Fucking typical they announce this week's after booking our flights. Surely they'll make an enough from the world cup fights to keep going until the autumn!
It’s the no Southgate factor for meA fan group says "alarm bells should be ringing at Fifa" over the fact England supporters have not taken up their full ticket allocation for next summer's World Cup final and semi-final.
It's also not correct
