I do believe a fit Richard wood will be a huge asset in this league.

Let's hope we are not in the middle of "lengthy talks" to give him away on a free.

agreed, always liked wood, never been his best since he came to us so lets hope a decent run in the side can get him back to something like his sheff weds days.

should be one of the best defenders in lg1 imo

Cameron I'd guess. Can't see Keogh still being here.

wood/keogh 1st choice if keogh stays of course.

cameron a more than capable replacement if keogh goes, with willis as emergency cover given some game time when we can to gain some experience.

--------------------Murphy------------------

Clarke-----Cameron-----Wood---Hussey

Fleck-------Thomas-----Kilbane----Sheff

-----------Cody--------Elliott---------------

Subs--- Deegan, Baker, RoD, Willis, Bigi, Dunn

I'd say with the above team, would be a big man to replace RoD and a centre half away from a squad that should compete in ths league

hes a bit of a donkey with a 50p head(he helped cost us a HUGE game vs ipswhich i think with a terrible clearence last year

showever yes i also beleive he can be an asset in league 1 and it is imperative that we keep him!

I would be confident with Wood and Cameron at the back but believe that they would need support as it's a little thin in that position. I do think that Thorn's tactics encourage playing from the back which neither of these two would be capable of doing so well as they both love to lump up the other end of the pitch.

I think we will definitely be signing another defender who can play with the ball at his feet to play alongside Wood or Cameron.

Lets hope he stays injury free, but i bet he is the option we have to replace Craine though

I don't have much hope on Keogh staying either, now Cranie has left.

However, Cameron and Wood is a very decent pairing in Division 3.

But... they are injury prone so we would need to bring in 2 CBs or at least 1 more.

Kilbane has played a fair bit at CB in his career so could cover. In fact he plays in the same position as Cranie. I wonder if Kilbane has been bought in as Cranie's replacement?

realistically, i think wood will have to go though to free up the wage bill, he's on around 9k p/w and we need our average wage of the squad to be around 3.5k p/w,
think they will try to get rid of him on a free and pay some of his contract and try and get him a 3 year contract elsewhere.
keogh will also definitely go now cranie has gone, think it will be a swap deal with wilson to bristol city, so we will also need another centre back

Agree think we're looking at two more sales ,combined with two others on bigger money going without fee ,double whammy on Keogh +fee +wage reduction.

ye i think wood, keogh, bigi and deegan are still all going to go
and i think we'll get wilson from the keogh deal, and i think we will get someone in exchange for deegan if we can get rid, think we'll sign kilbane but unfortunately i don't think we'll get fleck cause if we were it would've been done today and he'll go to charlton or barnsley and the rumour about raheem sterling is a load of shite

Its going to be important to bring in some to generate future revenue,Wilson fits that profile.

I thought woody was on 3.5k a week, where do you get
9k from? I thought we would have Cameron and Wood next season, hope we do. Also kilbane hasn't signed, he is just training to keep fitness levels up for when a club says they want him!

Hope we don't get rid of wood it'd be barmy. Rate him especially at this level captain material if keogh leaves.

I dont think im out of my mind! I dont run the club nor am I a board member, im a loyal and loving fan! I really have no idea on finances of the club, dont think any of us do really! I was just saying, I thought, as to my knowledge!

I am shocked to hear (if true, source anywhere?) he is on 9k.
