But we are making all the wrong choices around the box

Besides that our general play is pretty good.

I swear I’ve heard that somewhere before.

Who's that girl Madonna playing for the Argies?

Don’t know. But our no.3 Greenwood is very easy on the eye.

Very interesting to note that the first time the Argies committed players forwards, we hit them on the counter and there were massive gaps to exploit. Goal.

The Argentina goalie played a blinder.
Hopefully will silence those who complain all women goalies are useless.
Some of them at least are very decent.
Was surprised to see Jamaica had a white blonde-haired goalie, but to play for them all you need is one grand-parent born in Jamaica.
She wasn't that great, let 5 in versus Italy.
One cross collection attempt was very Burge-esque, missed it completely and it ended up in the net.

Felt sorry for the Jamaican keeper against Italy, daft VAR decision!

All these people complaining about the standard of women's football.
Have you watched Coventry City lately?
Maybe instread of making the goal smaller for women, they should make it bigger for men.

Ponti may be better suited to it - perhaps he should grow his hair

England made it to the knock-out round with a 100% record.
They beat Japan 2-0 in their final game.
I thought England were excellent in the first half and could have been 3-0 up except for some top class saves by the Japan GK.
In the second half, England seemed to tire while Japan seemed invigorated.
Nevertheless, against the run of play England scored a second from their excellent striker Ellen White.
The England GK Karen Bardsley (born in California) is good but has a dodgy kick, two or three times it misfired and went straight to a Japan player.
That would have been punished by better opponents. She could be our weak link.
England seem like a solid outfit but they will need to be sharper if they come up against France, Germany or the USA.

Very entertaining few minutes in the England Cameroon game. Even though the correct decision is clearly made the Cameroon players are having none of it. You would think somebody in the team would know the rules, the offside decision wasn't even close!

They were claiming racism in the tunnel at half time

Apparently, in the tunnel, the Cameroon players and manager are accusing FIFA of racism.

Outrageous, laughable and embarrassing.

Should have booked a few of them.

And how was that elbow NOT a red card? It was a red card clear as day without VAR, so how come VAR didn't pick it up?

I see the crowd here are quite rightly booing England.

Disgraceful behaviour from Cameroon, they threw their dummy out of their pram at every VAR decision.

Appalling challenge in injury time, should have been a straight red card.

Dirty bastards. That dirty Cameroon git should have been sent off in injury time. Didn't even look at the ball. Deliberate.
May as well be watching blokey football as watch this.

Earlier in the game that Cameroon defender spat on the England player's arm as well. TV camera picked it up, but commentators didn't mention it.

VAR is only used for certain decisions like offside, penalties or if the ball crossed the goal line.
It's not used in other circumstances.

Both the England vs Cameroon game and the France vs Brazil were epic encounters.
I was glued to the TV for both games.
I still say England have a dodgy goal-keeper though.
I don't know how anyone can say women's football is boring to watch, or lacks skill.
I just watched the US men's national team beat Trinidad and Tobago 6-0.
Now that was a boring game.

VAR was used in injury time to determine if a Cameroon player should have been red carded, for a nasty looking challenge.

Personally I think that was accidental. At least I hope it was.

The keepers kicking is definitely dodgy and she does stay rooted to her line a bit too much. I also see the defenders have had the same coach teaching them passing it back to the keeper as the men.

I also think Duggan has been quite poor this tournament - her passing has been woeful much of the time,

England IMO haven't had a good game yet - decent in patches but overall look a bit nervy. Need to play much much better to have a hope against the better teams.

Hot, but a bit over-hyped as to her playing ability.
Can't dribble, Is easily pushed off the ball, and falls over a lot.
Did absolutely nothing against Spain and was taken off.
In her defence, may be carrying a slight injury.
Now Megan Rapinoe and Tobin Heath, there are two real players.
I'm also a big fan of Lindsey Horan.

Have to agree.
I have a feeling they will come unstuck against Norway.
Norway are a very good team and will punish any mistakes England make.

She didn’t have a good game, Rapinoe was excellent but did wonder why Morgan didn’t take the 2nd pen when she was lined up for it?

Think we would have had more trouble against Canada than Sweden. Still can't look past USA as winners ar the moment. The heat may yet play a part in the competition. Some naughty temperatures due, With water breaks and VAR we may have 2 hour games, even without extra time!

As has been stated, they checked the Steph Houghton incident for a red card. They therefore could have checked the elbow.

  • offside interference
