Same for every football match that has ever been played throughout the world.

Good fucking Lord. That was brilliant, amazing atmosphere too.

Russo’s goal, holy shit. It went in in slow-mo in the stadium, couldn’t believe it at first. Now to try and get tickets for Sunday…

I think a real positive for England is that different players have shone in different games and they haven't had to rely on the same players game in, game out to pull them through.

Hemp is a great player, but hasn't at all been at her best in the tournament, but last night she really showed just how dangerous a player she is.

Kirby is a fab player too, but hadn't shown that much in the tournament until last night Last night, she had a fantastic game.

We have so many players that can step up to the plate and put in match winning performances. Mead, Kirby, Hemp, Walsh, Stanway, Russo, Toone and we still haven't seen the best of Ellen White yet.

I thought Daly had a very good game and it was very brave of Wiegman to stick by her last night, after she was turned inside out against Spain.

Really looking forwards to Sunday and even bought an extra train ticket in order to get back earlier for the final. Yeah, I know. No change on that front.

I agree with that, our strength in depth is ridiculous and one of our biggest strengths. We seem to have a lot of players all peaking at the same time. Obviously players like Russo and Toone would love to be starting I'm sure, but they've properly bought into the fact they have a role to play and can affect the game just as much coming on later.

I get what people are saying about not celebrating too much as well, but being there it felt different. I think with the women there's more of a connection with the crowd, especially the kids, and the lap of honour and the singing and dancing is just as much for them as it is the players. The fact it's a home tournament has added to it too, if this was in another country and there was only a small pocket of fans we wouldn't see it, but the fact there were 29,000 cheering them on means they're just soaking it all in while they can I think

The crowd at the Germany v France game. Loads of childish screaming from the crowd - is it kids screaming during a Mexican wave? Worst bit of the tournament so far !

'England team not diverse enough'. Thoughts?

Personally I think it would be great to see a mixture of people playing, but surely the best players have to be picked first and foremost? Hopefully no one has been left out, but I am sure that isn't the case so I'm not sure how any of this stuff is helpful.

For one this tournament will hopefully have inspired an entire generation of women to play football, colour really shouldn't come into it all. It's a shame.

my thoughts are that its got nothing to do with creed, colour or religion if you are good enough you will play and that goes for the men's game as well.

It's a shame the subject comes up at all. The BBC are obsessed with the topic of race and colour.
Personally I couldn't care less what colour a player is . Hardly any players of colour in the entire tournament and hardly any in the crowd as was very noticeable in England's semi final. What do we draw from this ? It depends what you want to believe.

Wonder if there might still be more resistance from non-white backgrounds to encourage girls to play football, especially as a job?

What's unhelpful about it? I didn't see anyone demanding any non-white players get picked for the sake of it, they're not taking anything away from today's team at all.

It certainly seems unusual that the team comes from one particular demographic, and these guys would like the football authorities to change that one day by doing more to spread the game's appeal. Good!

Why is it unusual that a team comes from one demographic? I've never heard someone say the Nigerian team has too many black people in it.

The men's team is overepresented by ethnic minorities considerably, should we have a quota to reduce that, or is it just a problem when it is white people?

It's all complete nonsense. Everyone is welcome to play football, and we have just got into a final. That should be the focus.

I mean, just in purely statistical terms it would be unusual to randomly select 23 young English women and all but one of them be white (this isn't an ethnically homogeneous country like Nigeria). Then compare it to the English men's team, and it looks even more curious, considering they're playing the same game. What's the harm in exploring why that's the case? There's been plenty of focus on the final - a 3 minute piece on the BBC website doesn't take away anything from that.

Everyone's pretty much welcome to do anything in this country, but it doesn't mean that barriers don't exist regardless, and it doesn't hurt anyone to address that - the only reason anyone's going to lose out is because someone even better came along!

If you read the piece she has on the BBC the issue is since clubs moved girls football to their academies it is harder for poorer kids to attend as the academies are out of town and unlike boys academies they don't really help with transport. It's been acknowledged as an issue by the fa and they say they are looking at solutions

It's just a pathetic excuse. Since when has football been the domain of those born into a privileged background. Never. Same for all the players on this score irrespective of colour. The FA are bound to agree otherwise they'll be accused of racism.
