Do you smuggle pasta back and forth between Verona and branches of Bella Italia or similar)?

To be honest, I'm just jealous of someone who can live over there and still get back to see CCFC. Very close to my idea of heaven, and my wife would move if it wasn't for our son's education (also the returning for CCFC - she doesn't get it, but luckily puts up it without grumbling)

I've worked out G's obsession with MR and taxi's! He stole G's free taxi ride .

I remember one against Espanyol, might be that. It was Highfield Rd though I think.

I went to the 2-7 trouncing against Benfica in 96, talk about the writing being on the wall despite the big signings

I also remember going to a mid season one against a German team, maybe 98 ish?

We played Brescia at Highfield Road in some tournament or other involving Blues too? (Beat the Italians 1-0 - David Smith)

Remember Ajax giving us a spanking in pre-season as well!

They bought a few and can remember an older Ajax fan singing to the West End ‘Can you hear the Coventry sing’.

Weird the shit you remember yet I couldn’t tell you the score.

If I remember correctly the Bayern friendly was towards the end of the season and not during pre-season? Was an evening kick off. I could be wrong

It was... Bayern were on a mid season break. We had beaten Man Utd & Liverpool and were about to go on that winning run.

I remember throwing the ball to Lothar Mattheus when sitting in the Main Stand & being surprised at the size of their striker who came on... Jancker... Had a decent career.

For once and (enjoy this as it will probably never happen again) - I agree with you. Not a fan of attending friendlies at all.

I’m not even going to take a cheap shot of your mention of a taxi - however tempting

We’ve been getting this all wrong. Grendel just thinks Robins deserves the same excellent treatment he got at the city. Free booze and an expenses paid taxi for Robins.
