Think I said the same thing on another thread.

A new manager may have to have on eye on next season in League Two and start assembling a squad for that.

I could do it. I just would be nice to the people we need to do business with and not piss them off.
Oh I would be nice to my custom base as well and act like my business can't survive without them. I would also make them feel part of the whole business.
Finally I would realise without success in the pitch the business is screwed.
Sorry one more CCFC would be my only business so it would be my main focus.
Other than that you are probably right I am not the man for the job.
Ah sorry just realised you are talking managers whereas Torch was talking about saving the club. No manager can do that

And I'm sure many on here, not necessarily Rupert, said something along the lines of 'well done SISU...getting Tony Mowbray in shows we mean business'...

maybe having worked at Charlton it won't be such a culture shock for him coming here. Bad owners there too!

Yes I was a bit 50/50 on TM from vibes I got from West Brom mate and what he said to me happened. His main criticism being TM was intransigent and stubborn with his team and tactics.
Never slagged him though, and really disappointed how it all faded away.

Reading his cv it is fairly impressive and admit I was ignorant of his management record. It suits where we are at l also hope he's been in the frame for a while and has already earmarked wishfor players. We need them early in January not at 5pm the 31st.

I knew we'd win you round....

He is a lower league dream, best we can hope for and I've called it for a while. January I'm hoping to see the "men" come and a target man for sordell to play off.

I can see the attraction in getting Russell Slade and I hope he keeps us up but I think unless we get a fair few in January it will be a difficult job. I would like to see him have a longer contract than just end of season so that he can build.
Personally, if we had decent owners, I would have gone for a younger, even new to management, guy. Ricketts might have been a good choice. But with the turmoil we have it wouldn't be the right time. Mind you our greatest ever manager was untried before he began the sky blue revolution.

One big issue it seems he resigns when the owners are doing things that's means he has no chance and he will end up looking like a shit manager when it's probably not his fault

I hope he does well and he is the man to save CCFC .

But I have a Question, if Russell Slade is the man to save the Sky Blues.

Then why was JFH Mr Fisher first choice !

It's a fair point.

A new manager might have to accept relegation this season, in exchange for a free(ish!) hand on building a squad next season.

(Then we can all change it around January 2018 for the next bloke...!)

if a new manager is accepting that, he isn't the manager I want at my club.
