Why all doom and gloom? (10 Viewers)

Some of the fans on here and twitter are starting to get on my nerves recently...

Just because we have lost a couple of games in a row, all of a sudden everyone has turned from praise to negativity.

I bet when we win a couple of games everyone will turn back to praising the squad and then it will just go round in a big loop

Sorry but the tide turned way before losing these two games ... Leon going, Callum injured, been pretty poor ever since actually. We have no ambition as a club, no potential and little future ... that's my guess as to why people are down ... but I get that you were just trying to get people to be more optimistic, but optimism left sometime ago sadly.

Oh I don't know

We play our home games out of Coventry
90% of season ticket holders have seen no games at home for their team
We have no transfer budget
We have no squad budget
Our current owners plan to build a new stadium is as likely as force being used against North Korea
We have gradually drifted down the leagues over the last 10 years
There is no positive future for our club at present

Enough??

sam, I'm looking to you for help on this one.

All i can see is

1) tonight was lowest "home" attendance in my lifetime
2) we dont own either striker and our manager doesnt like loans
3) our 3 best players (moussa, murphy and Christie) are all out of contract in the coming months
4) we dont play in Coventry
5) our owners simply do not care about the fans

The only glimmer of light is that the new stadium will be announced 2 weeks ago

A fairy tale 12,000 stadium in the Coventry area. That laughable idea alone should have any fan still prepared to go inside Sixfields think long and hard. Supporting this bunch of crooks.
Pressley has done wonders with his hands tied. It is plainly obvious Sisu aren't supporting him with players that are serious contenders. Two 18 year old kids as your attack is pathetic.
Sisu aren't supporting Pressley. They are not interested in football. He will tire of it and leave. Murphy, Christie, Moussa & co will leave in the summer.
Our only hope is that Sisu see the madness and return to Coventry. But that doesn't look likely.

We are now 12 points off the play offs which means we are -2 points from where we started at the beginning of the season. Totally pissed off with it all and playing and shit fields is a massive contributor to our problem. There is no way we will keep SP and our best player for next season :-(

Do you slash your wrists every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday night when you fail to win the lottery or simply buy another ticket?

If you focus on the negatives you're always going to feel shit!

Exactly.... what is with all the doom and gloom?! I mean we're playing 35 miles away in a shithole ground not fit to host a conference side in technically the 3rd division and playing shite.......I've gone home and away for nearly 30 years since I was a kid and apart from my daughters the fortunes of CCFC has pretty much always been up there as a major part of my lfe but didn't even know we were playing at Shitfields tonight. If they've lost my interest they've pretty much lost the game completely...anyone who has to ask that question really has no idea about what it means to be a Coventry City fan.

There's not a lot different to last night but any outsider looking in on this thread would think we'd all decided to start a suicide cult tonight.

Symptons of the internet I guess. Unless your being an overdramatic and melodramtic idiot, no one really listens.

It's because we have no home ground and play in level 3 of English football.

We have a young exciting team that play good football generally. Lost their way a little with losing some key players...recoverable!
We have some great support.
We are being laude for how we play, & how we support.
We have a good academy.
Even though I would start to struggle finding more...there are positives there to hold onto.
Lose hope & everything is lost...keep the faith

I take the positive look at all this. We're at the same point where we were 50 years ago. 3rd Division. We've never had a better season since (apart from a 6th place finish in 1969/70 season and an FA cup win in 1987). What have we got to lose? Certainly not a great footballing history! We're Coventry City FFS! It's just great being a City fan! I just don't care any more! :D

I wanna do the Conga around Broadgate now!

Surely we'll be ok.

Going by the majority of threads on here over the last couple of weeks we must have about 15 games in hand over everybody else because of matches being abandoned at Sixfields due to the weather.

That's another 45 potential points we can get more than everybody else.

Unless of course people were being a bit over-dramatic about that as well, but can't see that happening on here to be honest.

and still the stunning chorus of support from our mythical owners could ring in our ears,
EXPLAIN YOUSELVES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason were all (most) despondent is that all football supporters look to the future and think what might be . With this shower of owners there's nothing but turmoil and bad times to come ,setting supporter against supporter. No money ,no team ,no ground , no home support worth talking about . Every week a Phoenix club looks more attractive . I want a team I can get behind . Still going to tranmere and will have a cracking day with my son but not too sure if I'll follow next year .

It doesn't look good does it. I think we all try to look for positives but quite simply there are very few. Frustration boils over and when we lose 2 on the trot to two shit teams then its natural to go a bit silly. I completely understand it. Win the next 2 or 3 and it changes again.

Biggest issue here, Clarke and Wilson banging goals in for fun pre new year and now neither play for one reason or another so goals have dried up and we will never defend correctly so hence bad results.

p.s I don't think shit pitches help our style of football and crap teams like Bradford and port vale pick up points.

No we haven't. We have 1 game in hand on some teams but many others have played the same.

Unless of course people were being a bit over-dramatic about that as well, but can't see that happening on here to be honest.
