For me only Rudoni and MvE are the level required .
All the posters putting Grimes in , he's 29/30 and not been a player a premier League side has gone after. For me he would be to lightweight in that 6 role .
We have players like Thomas and Kitching , Torp and Eccles who could step up , Simms and EMC also but it is a massive step up .
Dovin has the potential too based on last seasons form and Rushworth is 💯 a premier league keeper but he isn't ours .
Lampard would need to be ruthless in his recruitment and his releasing of players also

Realistically we would have to change most of the team to stay up

As a Sunlund fan this is the correct answer, sadly. I would have loved us to have gave some of the lads that got us up a chance in the prem, but sadly the way football is nowadays that isn’t possible. The gap between the championship and premier league is huge.

Really hope you come up and we survive. Much rather see some “proper” clubs back in the top league competing.

Think grimes is too small and too slow to play that role in the PL. I really think it’ll be one or two at absolute most and probably none of our players.

I thought the thread was about which posters we want to keep if we’re promoted and which we plan to sell off to the Lesta and Birmingham forums to be honest. Think shmmeee would do a job at a solid L1 forum, Bolton if he’s happy to relocate.
He'd have them all slitting their wrists in 2 days tops. For that reason I nominate the Birmingham forum.

You would make a very good plastic PL fan tbf

Everyone looking at Sunderland who are something of a rare event. Leeds are actually competing pretty well too and there must be a good 5 players in that team that got promoted with them, maybe more? Cba to figure it out but that looks about right.

Leeds were a parachute club weren’t they?

I wonder if the African and Asian fans that take over all Premier League social media will find their way to the forum? Might be interesting actually, we need some fresh characters.

What insults? 🤣

Oh right “shmmeee should fuck off the Bolton forum” was in fact a compliment sorry. FFS man for someone who throws a fit about mental health every time someone calls you out you really should learn to wind your neck in and stop being such a smarmy prick at times. Or accept some banter back. Don’t worry tho Grendel will be up soon to give you some likes.

This is an interesting reaction to a post about… selling posters off to other forums in the summer transfer window.

Eccles more likely to make the step up than Grimes? Wow…

Don’t mind me mate, just chilling with my popcorn here enjoying it.

Congrats on your derby win yesterday. Now a much better team than the last one we played.

Still a massive bunch of freaks though - I know loads of you, unfortunately! Enjoy your season and hopefully we will meet again next year.

I thought the same too and had already condemned myself to a double relegation.

Think this thread was done previously so would be interested to see if I've changed my mind on any without realising but:

Players who could start first game:
Rushworth
Dovin
MvE
Thomas
Grimes

Players who could be starters/will definitely be useful squad players:
Torp
Rudoni
Haji
EMC
Sakamoto

Players who could maybe be useful squad players:
Kitching
KKH
Wolf
JDS
Simms
BTA

Players who should probably be moved on:
Allen
Eccles
Bidwell
Brau
The rest
Haji has the potential and pace
Rudoni I think will be good enough.
MVE not sure defensively and he will be up against players with same if not more pace than him.
Eccles I think would be a useful squad player.
Wolfenden has played in Prem and Ipswich fans thought he was okay. We haven't seen enough of him as FL has stuck to a team that is winning, he needs a run of games.
Torp would need to find another level but could see him being useful in the squad..
Same with KHH has potential and the pace required.
Andrews is only 19, still needs developing but would keep.
EMC is a no for me.
I don't think Kitching is good enough for the Premier League.
Sakamoto would deserve the chance, but not sure he would cut it at that level.

I strangely think Simms is more likely to do some damage in the Prem than Wright.

Simms is a bit more of a throwback to an older era of centre forward that isn’t utilised as much in the Prem anymore.

I don’t think Wrights pace / touch wil count for as much in the Prem.
Have to agree about Wright, Gyokeres is struggling against quick powerful centre backs in the prem so cannot see Wright doing any better

Think that’s about what you have to spend if you want to stay up.

The flip of this is that spending that kind of money you’re likely to land on at least 1 or 2 that you could sell for a hefty profit even if relegated. Sunderland could probably get £30m each for their keeper and Mukiele if they were to go down, for example.
