Who makes it in the Prem? (5 Viewers)

Realise we may yet get relegated, but interested on people’s thoughts.

Just watched the Tyne & Wear derby. A tepid bore-fest of unparalleled dullness. But it made me realise, to be competitive, are we going to have to change almost our entire “best 11”?

Sunderland were pretty decent, but had about 2 players starting who played in the playoffs (a few more came on as late subs).

Who from the current squad makes our Prem 1st 11?

For me it’s the following…

Rushworth (when we sign him permanently)
MVE
Rudoni

And I think that’s about it. Am I wrong?!

Out of the 11 that started yesterday personally I'd change all but Rushworth, MVE and maybe Rudoni depending on how he performs rest of the year.

I strangely think Simms is more likely to do some damage in the Prem than Wright.

Simms is a bit more of a throwback to an older era of centre forward that isn’t utilised as much in the Prem anymore.

I don’t think Wrights pace / touch wil count for as much in the Prem.

Hard to say how many would be of obvious Prem standard. Personally found Le Fee underwhelming for what he was supposed to be at Championship level and he seems ok. I've said before I think if we start next season in the Prem my money would be 5 players currently here start on opening day.

I think Bobbys main strength is “on the ball”, it’s his concentration / decision making that causes issues.

I do otherwise agree though, I don’t think immediately good enough for the Prem.

I won't be in as big of a rush to bin everyone off as some on here will that's for sure. Think there are some that could surprise but we will of course need to spend good money to stand a chance.

I think our fans underrate Mason clark , his physicality alone would be a massive asset in the premier league .. kieran mckenna alludes to ipswich struggling becaude they lacked it .. crystal palace the type of side who have it all over and the type of side we need to try and emulate

The keeps list won't be starting 11 anymore all of them. So opens up a good 7-8 slots for new transfers which could transform us in terms of quality

But personally I think we have a good core to keep to help pad out a decent squad

I think he’s great, has a lovely touch and shot. His physicality has improved too. I think in the Prem his lack of pace would potentially be exposed though.

Don’t want to shit on him mind, he is great to watch at the moment. Did a super sexy turn against Bristol and has the composure so many players lack.

You'd (and I hate to say this) want to take a page out the Sunderland book on their approach to it.

Keep the stronger players as starters, or even squad players, and hustle the fuck out of the summer transfer window for new additions that would automatically be starting at a higher level.

Most of the squad will be under no illusions that they will either not be playing or moved on as well. Nature of the beast.

The return on investment is staying up. Which they’ve pretty much secured already.

I guess the return of staying in the league would cover it, but I get the sentiment. He looks a very physically fit 33 year old as well though.

All the nuances of a million or so here or there and return on investment become largely irrelevant in the prem. You obviously still look for that, but 1 player could be netting you £70m profit after a good season.
