Who Else Is Nervous? (2 Viewers)

We’ve had 3 great seasons in a row.
We didn’t win our opening game in any of them.

Whatever happens on Saturday will not be an indicator of the season ahead

So we're worse off mainly because we've got rid of players you call shit?

You mentioned Simms dropping off the face of the earth. That was last season. That's not him making us weaker this season.

KKH looks good going forward. We will see how good he is defensively but you speak as though it's a downgrade without him playing in anger. It does release funds to strengthen elsewhere.

Yeah a shit player is better than no player obviously. I thought our entire team was shit many a time in the past but never thought we’d be better with no one on the pitch.

Time to see what Frank and the coaches have been able to get done over the summer. I get he'll want players in, but if he and they can't get a bit more from what we've got, they don't deserve the gig. Nervous and excited. F*cking 12:30 KOs, though!

So getting rid of our as you called shit players has left us without any players 😂

Im the one saying them leaving has left us worse off! I want them replaced but that’s “pie in the sky” according to some.

You have to say if we lose MVE and Rudoni over the next couple of weeks and all we’ve brought in is a couple of defenders and a cocky goalie then folk should be a little disconcerted.
Is this the moment that Doug claws back all of his Investment ‘ in the club ?
Maybe financial stability for the club will be paramount over ambition this term 🤔

blimey I think that’s a bit OTT. As it currently stands we have both and only 3 weeks left of the window. Doug won’t have just decided to knock cov and his investment on the head. We have bid 5.5m for a goalkeeper and 7m on a CB.

Let’s see how these 3 weeks go but if players go to fund new players that’s exactly the model working perfectly.

Not nervous but underwhelmed.

We haven’t done anything in the transfer window yet to move the dial. Think we’ll be competitive but at the moment I’m feeling mid table.

Being pragmatic I understand the one in one out policy but even with some movement over the next few weeks I feel signing top players and integrating them will be hard.

Was hoping for a good start this season but feel we’ll be trying to play our way into form.
Top quality RB. Competition for MVE (as it stands).
Big upgrade on GK, and from what I've seen a classy left sided defender.
The emergence of Kai Andrews in pre season,
No sales of our best players.
I think it's been a very good summer so far.
Almost certain there will be at least 1 more big signing (if no-one else leaves) before Sept.

You Must be a blast at parties

Yep I think I was right to feel underwhelmed ahead of the first game of the season.

We had some decent ideas in the final third in the first half but lacked a proper number 9 to link up with. I genuinely think we are a proper centre forward and back up striker away from being a decent outfit.

Simms, BTA, Bassett and sorry, 1 good game in 5, Haji Wright, won’t get us where we want to be. Hopefully yesterday’s impotent performance will put some velocity into deadly Doug to force changes and get rid of/invest in our forward line.

Lampard clearly has no faith in Bassett or Simms and his subs were scattergun.

Agree with this.
We were a decent striker away from a win yesterday and can’t fault the effort but we needed a Micky Quinn and it would have been a comfortable morale boosting result!
