I think MR was looking to replace him last season when we played 3 at the back which is why we signed JWE on loan & then JDS for this season. MR wanted the 2 wing backs to push further up the pitch to deny the opposition's wide players getting forward, MR even said after the play off final that he was planning on bringing JWE on for Bidwell but couldn't when we had to take off Palmer, Doyle & BNC. Since we gave gone to a back 4 I don't think MR is as keen to get rid of Bidwell especially as he looks a better option than JDS although I doubt he will get another contract at the end of his current one.
Robins said after the match last night that he wanted to make another sub but didn’t have the player on the bench to enable that.
Looking at the bench I think it was probably another wide player that Robins wants. Both Tats and Hadji looked tired in the last 15 but we had no options to replace
