i hear alot about lack of new signings but so far nothing to suggest we will have a mass exodus either bar few expiring contracts

i am happy with

murphy
cranie
keogh
cameron
wood
mcpake
clarke
christie
hussey
mcsheffrey
macdonald
baker
thomas
bigirimama
deegan
bell
platt
rod
dunn

those in bold i have no doubts about in league one,the others may need to bulk up,grow up naturally or step up,the youth have a year of experience in them and can look to a better season individually imo

i guess barring a sisu guttering,im trying to say i think maybe we should be a lil bit more optimistic? i understand L1 is a pitfall waiting to happen in some cases we have to remember that we competed in nearly every match last year vs better opposition, with a extra striker i think we can look to be near the top end of the table,i really do.

however i udnerstand we need a squad,i would love 6 new signings,in relaity if we only lose cranie(on top of thsoe already gone) id be happy with 2-3 with 1 striker, midfielder and 1 LB a must.

If it was my choice on what players were to leave it would be the bottom 3 names on your list. All the rest can do a good job. Platt can't play every game and don't score goals......he is a striker. I know he gives us presence, but we need goals. We will have a small squad. We need players fit enough to play every game.

yeh ROD is the only one id release if we can get replacement

dunn will do as a no.2?

platt is in bold as he will do a job as a impact sub and away game starter imo,i do not want him to be first choice though i agree, much rather a new ST alongside macdonald

i think there will be a few more academy lads in the frame for next season - Willis, Ruffels, Henderson and Daniels have all done well, and i've only seen a couple of their games but i think they'd do well in league 1, and be great experience for them to help us push for promotion.

Along side some of our experienced heads i think if we can get the balance right we'll have a good side.

Keeper wise i like Dunn but can't see him staying for another season on the bench, Lee Burge has been on the bench a few times and i think will slot in there if/when Dunn goes

IF Keogh and Cranie stay i think McPake and Wood will have to go to balance the books giving us Cameron and Willis as cover.

Deegan has never odne anything for me apart run around kicking people, but he may well be suited to lg1 and deserves a chance. Not being that spoilt for choice in midfield i think we need to keep what we've got

Up front i think Platt will do a good job in lg1, Cody already proven he can score goals at that level and if he gets decent fitness will do well. ROD a good back up and Daniels from the academy is a great prospect

We will need players like Deegan next season. Otherwise our opponents will be free to knock our players about. We need to make sure we are not lightweight in every position.

Astute i see your point, maybe a fiery hard working, tough tackling Deegam with a more 'flare' player like Bigi could be a good combo for us in the middle???

if any of you get chance to watch some of the Academy highlights have a look - they've played some great football this year and there is a lot to look forward to coming out of there!!!

Happy with? It's like there's a choice. We need all the players we can get. I genuinely believe every one of our squad is good enough for L1. I hope a few of them prove their distractors wrong.

there is a choice, im not asking if your happy with squad size,im asking if your happy with the actual players

i agree that they should be good enough for league one, despite the warnigns we have recieved from other fans,im glad to see that other SBT members feel the same.

Yes, as we are in L1 I am happy with the players we currently have. We obviously need to add to the squad but I don't think we have anyone who is "not good enough" for the league we find ourselves in.

How old is Wise now? I bet he could still do a good job for us next season

Everyone is replaceable in the squad.
I would get rid of
ROD
Platt
Bell

The only players that are must keeps for me are
Keogh
Mcdonald
Clarke
Hussey
Cameron
Gael
Thomas

The likes of Wood/Deegan/Baker/Mcsheff will do good enough jobs in league 1 so could be valued member of the squad but wouldn't be missed if we could replace them.

Seeing as he hasn't said it yet, but would, on his behalf, Sylus: "None of them, get rid of the lot, there's a culture of failure in the squad and we need to start again from scratch." :D
