Think ive done this most seasons , and I generally do quite well with this 😂

Now with the season upon us its time to give us your thoughts

This season i think we will finish 4th and hit the playoffs again

Most of the predictions I have seen, apart from AI, puts us in the playoffs.
Quite a few mention that Lampard is never as good in his second season. Of course, those seasons were all in the PL.
Injuries and last minute transfers can always change the dynamic, but I expect us to be in the playoffs.
My only concern is if we are not flexible enough with the system, if it is not working, particularly away from home. I think a lot of teams will kick Rudoni, park the bus, draw us in and hit us on the break

Head says playoffs. Heart says we miss out. We know the team is good enough. But these things are never straightforward.

We’re not going to get away with playing the same style of football all season as we’ve been playing since January, teams will get wise to us. So let’s see some elite tactics at work.

Don't like to predict until after the window really but I'm going on the assumption we'll address a couple of issues. 5th again?

4th or 5th. We finished 9 points off 4th after a slow start.

A lot of people have written off a lot of our players and this season I’m optimistic they’ll come good staying injury-free and a good preseason working with Lampard and his team.

I’d like 2-3 more players to be added before the windows closes but they have to starting calibre imo.

Always feels a bit hard to make an accurate prediction without all the transfer dealings being finished, but at the moment I get the feeling we will just miss out on the playoffs.

I think we are a bit light for the needed quality up front, and if Lampard persists with this midfield experiment, then I think it will hold us back.

We'll be competitive, probably be pretty good for the most part. Whether it is enough to be better than most of the other teams and get a top six finish though? Not entirely convinced at the moment. Could change of course, and I'm very happy to be proved wrong on it.

Anywhere between 5th-9th for me depending on luck, injuries, the windows (now & Jan), and how other teams do

Last year league was not great outside of the top 3 - this year will be a lower ceiling but higher floor which could prove harder to make the play offs

Exactly this, need to see some more invention.

If haji can consistently put the ball in the back of the net (like we know he can) and the addition of a quality centre half, I think the play offs are on again.

7-10

Don’t think we’ll be consistent enough.

2nd to 4th. Went for playoffs in vote.

It's too difficult to be more precise this early. I can't see many sides being better than us and also consier this to be a weaker Championship than recent years.

Ipswich look strong and can't see us beating them.

Southampton have Will Still as manager. 32 and never a professional footballer. Managed small Belgium clubs then Lens for 1 season. No experience of the English game let alone the Championship. Has stated in last few days they will be having a change of players. Leaving it a bit late? This place would have gone into meltdown if we had got him as manager.

Leicester are a basket case of a club. Lots of players that want to leave and they want to get rid of bit are overvalued and on massive wages. Points deduction on the horizon.

Sheffield Utd have brought in 4 players. 2 I've never heard of before and 2 younger loans from the Prem that haven't played this high before. They look weaker than last season. New manager Selles doesn't have a great CV either.

Birmingham are a strange one. Lots of money spent but how many would get into our side? How long will it take them to gel? Add to this Davies as manager has always been a coach before. Will he be ready for what the Championship has to throw at him?

I'm not saying we're certainties to beat any of the clubs above. But there's big questions about all of them other than Ipswich. I certainly wouldn't want to swap managers with any of them and we also have a settled and established Championship side with Lampard who has looked so far a very good manager at this level.

Still early to say as transfer window still open.

As it stands we've got a squad that is capable of play-offs. Whether we utilise the right tactics with them to achieve that remains to be seen.

Posted this on other thread, but we need a good start.

Basically, I think Wednesday and Charlton go down. Hull, Preston and Oxford fighting the last spot.

Going up is harder. I expect Southampton and Ipswich 2 of top 3, other 10 spots including us could finish anywhere from 2nd to 12th.

Top 6 easily. Look at the league, granted about 8 clubs are all in with a shout, but most of the league is filled with bang average squads at best. I like our team, we need a really good established centre back and id be happy.

Our squad is full of talent and we will beat most teams, its just whether the games where we have those piss poor performances we manage to scrape a point.

Ipswich, Leicester, Southampton, us, West Brom, Norwich, Shef U, possibly Middlesbrough and tbh that's it.

Just look around the league, look at Stokes squad, look at Prestons, Bristols will be mid table once again as will Millwall. The one okay squads for me are Bristol, Millwall, Qpr and Watford.

I think Wrexhams squad is pure shite i think Brums squad is hugely overated and as for the rest of the league its a mixture of teams Coventry City should beat comfortably.

Agreed , we have a very settled squad and one which still has room to improve. Another centre back and a couple of loanees and we can compete at the top end of the table

Sometimes less is more mate, and for me this season it will prove successful.

We do need a centre half tho i will admit that.

I agree Simms and BTA are fucking so frustrating but people rarely look up and actually takea minute to check other squads in our divisions forward line. Most sides have absolutely piss poor forwards. We have EMC Rudoni Sakamoto, Wright and then Simms and BTA.

That's not a bad fucking forward line let's be real here.

Stoke cities choices of strikers- Sam Gallagher and a lad thst scored 5 goals last season in Portugal for a team who were relegated after finishing bottom.

Look at Prestons, QPR's, Millwall, Watford, Bristol etc etc barely any club in this division has the quality we possess.

Its gonna be a good season. I can see it already.
