Things began to slide once the Mark Robbins effect wore off. Talked and talked a good game....quite literally.

Timpsons shoe shop, brown brogue specialist. Or a lower league 2 or conference side.

As usual with these things, once the focal point (putting SISU aside for one moment - if only I could!!) for our frustration has gone, we all seem to take a slightly more sanguine view of the guy. Liked the guy, but not convinced of his qualities to react to circumstances during a game (often no plan B, nor sometimes plan A). Good luck SP in the future though. Not sure I'll say the same when SISU go, though I'll be one hell of a lot happier!

I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up with the Rangers job considering the mess they're in financially which will lend itself to developing youngsters.

Poor chap leaves crappy owners here and then get's Mike Ashley and another car crash club, I would have said that he has a better chance of getting a job at Sports Direct than Rangers.

Always difficult for a Scot to turn down an Old Firm job even in Rangers' state. If they fail to get promoted as looks distinctly possible this season who knows.

The Mark Robins effect wore off well before Presley's purple patch at the start of last season. That was totally his doing and he should get as much credit for that as he gets blame for this season. I have never seen us dominate teams as consistently as we were doing at the start of last season, and I have never (in thirty years) seen us play such free flowing attacking football. The key component to that was Wilson's pace, but all the credit goes to SP for making him a focal point, and building a system around that to take advantage. Without pace at the top there's nothing to stop the midfield putting pressure on Fleck and the defence pushing up behind them - seemed strange then that he went for Madine as a lone striker...

I think if he learns from his mistakes and plays a similar system with a pacey striker, he will succeed in his next job. And I'm sure he will.

He was in Leicester yesterday watching Coventry under 9's and I for one applaud his commitment. Honest guy and a real trier. Can't manage this lot with the people he was working with.

All the best SP.

He was watching his son but was also making the effort to watch the other games going on there.

he has a vision for the game and if he ever managed to work out how to realise it fair play to him.

The only problem is his 'vision' changes every few weeks. and then he finds that he has the wrong players to realise his 'vision'.

He was lucky to have inherited some good youngsters when he came in & was forced to give them their chance. But his ability to bring in the right players has proved too much for him. I liked him & his straight talking. After a while his predictable after match comments became a joke. Good luck to him I say.

Straight talking??

I'd love to know what your idea of someone talking a load of old bollocks is.
