do we really miss Gus? the amount of yellows he got made him a liability at times, plus the way that torp/rudoni have progressed i feel we have better options now.
My memory is that after the red card away at Blues his disciplinary record improved dramatically. Might be wrong of course.

Gotta keep riding this momentum but selling sheaf is starting to look a dick move, letting him go with no replacement

Rudoni torp eccles injury worries and we are a centre mid short , who can fill in?? Allen and Andrews?

that said Octobers fixtures look very winnable
Selling Sheaf was good for all parties. We got 6.5m towards the January transfer window. Wrexham got a good player although in recent years his time out with injuries means you can't depend on him and Sheaf got a new start.

We have seen so many times Grimes and Sheaf don't make a partnership. Grimes is by far the better player so would always be one of the first names on the teamsheet. Sheaf would have been his injury cover. Grimes doesn't get injuries. He is a machine. A beast.

I really dont get why we didnt get another winger or CM in. Very odd. That will be our undoing if there is one.

Selling Sheaf solved our Captain problem, having Grimes as Captain who has played pretty well all the games available since he has come, adds consistency to the Captain role rather then changing as we did couple of seasons ago when we had, I think 4 in one season.

Haven't read all the posts, but I have a strong suspicion that KKH is perfectly capable of playing a midfield role if necessary. He has speed, likes to dribble, tackle, and has an eye for goal. That said, the way he linked up with MVE for the 4th goal made me think the pair of them could terrorise teams down the right side of the pitch and may be an unexpected weapon in our armoury.

I think if you're expecting anything from the January transfer window you will be disappointed. Owner and Manager appear happy with the squad we have - and when Dovin got seriously injured they did what was required. In the absence of another serious season-ending injury, I think we'll be going this time with what we've got. But even if I'm dead wrong there's no way we're paying whatever SU would be asking for our own ex-player.

I think you’re wrong. They will be fully aware we haven’t got the depth. If we’re still doing well come January, I think we’ll see some reinforcements in (if their faces fit / they are the right ones) to help see us over the line

This wasn’t a thread about keeping sheaf it was good money for a guy that was seldom fit in recent times

my issue is it shudda been one in one out especially in our midfield

We tried to bring in players. It's easy to bring in average players. We were not after average players. Also, Lampard stated that as well as capabilities on the pitch he also asks around on what the players are like personally. He isn't interested in players without good work ethics and also he only wants players that will fit into the squad and not cause problems. So in other words we want players other clubs don't want to sell.

He hasn't played a full 90 minutes since he's gone to Wrecsam.

I don't for one minute think we didn't try to get someone over the line on the last day of the transfer window.

Well, I'll tell you where im at. I've always been a bit weary about getting carried away, a bit like the OP. Never wanting to get hopes up to just end up losing. Always gone into games hoping for a win but preparing for a loss. L1 season aside. It just felt like our time then. It felt different to any other season as a city fan! And this season feels it, too. There's an entire shift in the feeling around the club that hasn't been there since the L1 season. In the L1 season we felt like the big dogs in a little league. In the championship.weve always felt like the plucky underdog. But this season we genuinely feel like the big dogs again.

Yes, it was great to get to the final v Luton. Yes, it was great to get to the Semis v Sunderland. But I never felt like we would win those games. I was half excited, half held back to avoid disappointment. I dont feel the need to hold back this season, much like the L1 season. It feels right. It feels like our time!

I'll also tell you where we're at as a club.... my whole life as a city fan, we've never had players playing for the club. They've all, always been, career footballers. Either using us as a stepping-stone to a bigger/better club, even our home grown players are guilty of this, or seeing out their final days with a pay cheque (Darius Henderson, Yakubu, Joe Cole - though i did enjoy his free kick v Barnsley). For the first time in my life, we've got players playing for the club, that actually want to play for the club. That want to grow and improve and get the club promoted, rather than just put themselves in the limelight for a better move (and it include Her and Gyokeres very much in that group of people using us as a stepping stone. You can see them together in the unseen videos. They want to play for each other and they want to play for the club! Its great to see!

Name a club in the division who wouldnt struggle having 3 cms out? People who say we need more cms are the same people who said we needed more left backs

Great news if so; a hot January Transfer Window would make my month. However, it still isn't going to include Gus Hamer.
