Where is the Love? (2 Viewers)

I have supported city since '75', and I have seen so many last day or last few game relegation scraps and survivals over the years. The thing that I remember the most though, is during these times at Highfield rd ( or away, on occasions, Spurs springs to mind) the place was bouncing, it was packed and we celebrated like we had won the league. But now, we are in the same posistion, and we get no support (just the loyal few) and our fans don't go co's the football crap and we are shit!! Where has the love gone? We should be getting behind the club now, it isn't the same anymore, this city should be getting behind it's team to keep us up. I have never witnessed 3rd tier football, but it seems the fact this is a very real possability, doesnt bother coventry anymore! No more pitch invasions on the last day, no more rocking stadium cheering the lads home. no more waves of relief sweeping accross to the pitch Just abuse and stay aways. Everyone quick to moan and blame the club, but no support piling in to roar the lads on, just this feeling of surrender and exceptance that we are going down!! So sad city, so sad.

I've only been to the Ricoh once (I live overseas and rarely come back to the UK) but since we left HR it just doesn't feel like my club any more. Moving stadiums was the biggest mistake the club has ever made (and I include appointing Butcher as manager in that). 15,000 people in HR could make a lot of noise; 15,000 in a big, soulless arena just look lost.

I think the Ricoh does lack the atmosphere but I am not sure whether it is just different fans to Highfield Road or the stadium it's self.

I just wish we could have fans behind both goals like at Highfield Road

Pain in the arse to get to, nowhere decent to have a drink nearby, and it just doesn't have any character at all. HR wasn't the best stadium in the world but by Championship standards it was one of the best & was more than ample for our requirements - we only filled it a couple of times a year when were in the Prem. The only people who benefitted from the move are those who made money out of the land sale - it's been no good whatsoever for the club or the fans.

I think the main issue is that it doesn't feel like our home because we're only renting. The sooner we own part of the stadium, the sooner it will feel like home.

I don't personally mind the Ricoh as a location but I can understand people coming on the train have to go a bit out of the way. If there was a train station it would make it a lot easier.

If we were winning, people would love the Ricoh. It's just something else to moan about. Ive been a season ticket holder at both, match day is not that much different. Still leave home at 2, still park a short walk from the ground and still get to ground in good time for kick off. Only now I don't fear for my car, personal safety or poor view at the ground.

There's obviously a lot wrong at the club but I think the stadium has very little to do with it, I've been in he Ricoh with 15,000 and the atmosphere was great. I think you'll find when you're 2-0 down with 15 mins left 32 thousand can be just as quiet as 15 thousand. When away teams bring in excess of two thousand, they always manage to make noise! Leeds, Chelsea, West Brom,Sheff Wed.... Even Blackpool have created more noise.

Fact is, we're at the Ricoh and as much as I miss it HR is gone. Move on and let's focus on on field issues.

We need the train station so people from the south area of the City can hop on at Cov station and off at the Ricoh. And Tim, theres loads of places nearby to have a drink on the Foleshill Road!

Yeah the station would be great, especially for away fans and cross town journeys. Also it's easier to drink near Ricoh, pubs and clubs on Foleshill and Holbrooks sides. I remember some of the pubs near HR, lol dear oh dear!!!

I like the Ricoh, it's a fantastic ground. I've said several times that it doesn't help the atmosphere when the away fans are huddled away from the new 'Singers Corner' because the banter between fans isn't as good as it used to be, in fact for some matches it isn't even there. At the Leicester game the other day it was fantastic to have the home crowd either side because it was constant noise between the home and away fans. A train station would be great as I've heard many away fans comment on how difficult/expensive it is to get from the station in the city centre to the Ricoh.

Having no home fans behind both ends is ridiculous, there's a 3000 seat gap for the atmosphere to get lost in,

Moving to the ricoh was a massive mistake but what can we do? moaning wont make it any better. I know its never really gunna happen but if we was in the premiership we would be loving the ricoh.
