Speaking to a few friends the other day and could not remember the last time we could go and watch the city without some shit happening off the pitch. Really struggled to think of a time where we were solely focused on the football rather than other issues, for me it was about the first few seasons at the Ricoh when you got to pick your seat, everyone was positive about the future etc.....

Maybe i have blocked out the last 7 years or so

Thoughts?

For me Stu it's only really been the last couple of seasons, since SISU started their rent strike and it all started getting very serious. Prior to that, other than the fans frustrations during the game targetted at SISU due to lack of investment and our slide down the table, the talk I've had with other friends and fans has been the usual football kind of conversations - eg. why is X so shit, isn't Y a bloody good player, hope we can push on this year etc. Never gave the off field stuff much thought then, because we've been through it all before with other regimes, and it always seems that the club survives somehow.

While matters off the field since then have dominated the forums, the CWR phone ins, the Telegraph etc., I can honestly say that DURING a game I forget all about SISU/CCC/WASPS/ACL etc. I just concentrate on being miserable 'cause we're getting stuffed :(

It's been tainted for the last 5 years or so when it became obvious that the hedge fund had started stripping it down to the bones, before that we were all moaning more about poor managers than owners !
